WHAT?? Alissa is joining DraganForce?? Sign me up!! I first saw her in the Arch Enemy video for Handshake with Hell and fell in love with her and the band. She has such a beautiful voice and awesome growls.

Alissa White-Gluz she definitely likes to keep herself busy. I’m excited to hear what Dragonforce will sound like. Got to see Frozen Soul open the Avatar show they put on a great show. For the opener they really got the crowd moving. Going to checkout the new Harms record

Nice selection, Jon, I vote for Frozen Soul, Harms, Draconian, Yoth Iria (some strong Rotting Christ vibes in it, no ? -bit disappointed that the female choir isn't on all titles…more part of the band), and Panopticon, who also gets my "Album cover of the week" lol (sorry, as much as I love your show, I'm not often aligned with your own art picks, mind you, but no big deal, as it is very personal). Cheers ! (no idea about your first question as I'm not a fan of Dragon Force, or maybe the answer is "oh no" ?).

Waiting for my new Darkthrone to get out of the FN customs.. i guess i won’t get it for a month, but I’m not gonna sneak a listen on YouTube I’m gonna wait to hear it myself when it finally arrives

The Narrator was on my list this week. Black Orchid Empire from the UK, who are friends of friends was pretty awesome, but if you need some straight out of left field, Lyrre from Poland, with their lady singer who plays the hurdy-gurdy over some crunchy guitars, they are my high suggest!!!

I believe Ingested re-recorded their vocals with the guitarist? So not a new vocalist. Other than that, pretty stacked week overall, but not a lot for me personally. That Yoth Iria is great! And will be checking out the new Frozen Soul at some point. Great video Jon!

Frozen Soul was the pick this week for me and that was the nicest fiercest slam review on that one record a more tender singer than Sleep Token that doesn’t scream with a worse drummer😂 I will not be checking that out😂

How are we defining "The big bands". I've been following these videos for about a year and I would consider maybe 10 percent of them actually big bands and thats relative to metal bands.
I assume its based on something like Spotify listens or is it just how long they have been around?

I didn't vibe with that Frozen Soul release, like at all.. I've heard it's been kinda divisive. To me it kind of felt like a really dumbed down Bolt Thrower, utterly void of any original personality, like osdm boiled down to its most basic parts. I also listened to The Temple by GronD this week, fantastic new death metal album, and with new Jungle Rot I'm yet to listen to, I should hopefully have more than enough death to pummel my ears with!

Draconian is one of my all time favorite bands- they always consistently make intelligent, beautiful music
