BTW. Still love ya man. I stopped listening to politics and my quality of life has gone up 1000%. We are propandized constantly by both sides nonstop. White vs black, man vs woman and goes on forever and ever. That's how they control us! And both sides are the same fucking side really. Fuck em all. Resulting man. You can remove my comments if you want. I don't want you to censor anything!

Iβve never once thought politics dominated your page. I donβt hate the sprinkling of politics here and there tbh! Your viewpoint was absolutely reasonable here. Our country is hurting and itβs incredibly sad.

I was barely holding onto viewing this channel. I had to unsubscribe when metal reviews and news gets put in second place by political commentary. On to better YouTube channels.

I'm sure Shadow of Intent is gonna blow everyone's heads off this week. With how different and unique each single from the album has been so far, there's honestly no telling what the rest of the album is gonna be like, but I know one thing for sure, it's going to slap HARD. I already know that's gonna be my album of the year, that's also because I'm the biggest SOI head.

I have not enjoyed Power Metal since the two terrific Lost Horizon's albums but to my greatest surprise Chasing the Dragon is really close. Thanks for the recommendation.

Great episode again, Jon. Waiting on my new Nad cd player to arrive as ordered up new Cryptopsy and Deafheaven Friday.
Keep preaching your views and to any asshat that is offended: π off; know you didn't call out agent π but undeniably the MOST corrupt and unfit man this country ever elected. Twice, smfh. FDT, Fmaga.
That's my take on it and little long.

Awesome video! To help keep things a little positive, I write a fantasy story/game that takes place in Argos (Basically ancient Greece in Conan the Barbarian times). Needed a suitable name for the northern province… And so "Barbas Province" came to be. Ruled over by House Barbas, some morally questionable nobles who got their power a little too quickly…

Not going to Summer Slaughter, but Malevolence kicked my ass opening for LoG and Mastodon last year. That Black Path album is a flawless blend of technicality and feeling, loved it.

Malevolence and Cryptopsy went hard af. Malevolence's groove with those beatdown roots is lightning in a bottle, both on my releases of the year list as well as Hiroe, new haggus also bangs I love the use of pitch shifted vocals, brutal sphincter is a prime example of that too.
@brucelivolsi

I understand why you avoid talking politics here. But, I don't mind in the least. Our political beliefs inform how we live our lives. To me, that's fundamentally why we engage in philosophical exploration – to uncover the reasoning behind how we think about the ways in which we live. Keep doing what you do, and I'll keep watching.

Black Path is π₯ Very progressive song writing, killer guitar but still keeping it brutal and catchyπ€π»π Oh and BTW I totally get how you feel about politics in general. Most people want to believe everything our fucked up, corrupt government tells us, especially all the "Trumpers". I know this is not a political channel but sometimes you just have to say what's on your mind brother!

People get so sensitive about politics, we can agree or not but we all have our opinion.
I was reading the coments talking about black path and I see why they're number one this week.
Great video.

I love the shirt. Easily one of my favorite bands. I got the chance to see them here in Stockholm this spring. And they are coming back as a support band for Orbit Culture π
Thanks for being the voice of reason. I am definitely going to read that book and thanks for the album tips.

Wattsmatta with Pirate Metal β οΈ? π€£ My favorite philosophical text is Dr. Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning. Humor is such an important part of human existence.
Helms Deep was definitely on my radar, and all the things coming out of Greece π¬π· (Black Path) this year definitely has my attention!!!
Check out Joliette π²π½. That was my big find this week!!
Don't be too worried about the current sitch. We will never have boots on the ground in Iran. I know that because 80% of the population of Iran is with us. Keep the faith. You are going to love it when you hear the bands out of there be able to play openly. No side of the aisle normmy wants another war, for sure.

@heavymetalphilosophy Hey brother man, imma help you out: I know political statements are not necessarily metalheads' favorite subject (really anyone lol), but there were literally no lies told, almost every one of my favorite bands have made political statements in their music, and even if I don't agree with it, doesn't change the quality of the music, for example, it's pretty obvious that Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" was anti-Vietnam war, and Slayer's "Expendable Youth" was shedding a light on both gang violence in LA getting out of control and using American men to fulfill an agenda driven war regardless of how many lives it takes. So, that book I may have to check out lolππΎπ€
