INFO: Todd Rundgren is an american artist, singer/songwriter and producer. He’s been an active musician ever since 1966 and is today regarded as one of the most influential artists and producers in modern music history. Hermit of Mink Hollow is his eight studio album, but he has released several albums after this as a solo artist, but with other bands and artists.

Gosh man. I haaate Onomatopoeia. I think it doesn’t fit with the album.

there was no divorce, todd was married for the 1st time on his 50th birthday.

Todd’s albums are always a mixed bag. That’s why they’re consistently interesting.

did he even look up what omomotopia means. that the sound it makes is the word it is. and what divorce.
he is full of speculation without knowing any history .

this guy doesn't get the level of consciousness that todd works on. its about the lyrics and the progression of where the music travels to excite an emotion. never the same thing on any album , but same results. todd comes in many flavors and then some we've never tried before

Good review, but for me, Hermit ranks with A Wizard, A True Star as my overall favorite Todd albums. His strongest set of songs in one place.

First time I've seen any of your reviews. I enjoyed it and appreciate your efforts. I am not sure if you know what, onomatopoeia means. But every word in the song that isn't prose, are actually onomatopoeia, words named for how they sound. This is critical to the enjoyment of the song. So, if you knew that I apologize, I just feel it is an important point. Also, I think you might have mentioned that Todd performs all the instruments on the album and each song has an accompanying video, I believe a first.

Wow, another 6 out of 10 ? You're definitely not into melodies and voice arrangements, that's why you're having such a hard time with TR's music. Hermit is an obvious 8 out of 10 for any classic pop lover ( Beatles, Beach Boys, etc ).

Hey there. Was so nice to log on and see you covered another Todd LP. I know there are so many other artists for you to discover and/or cover. And nice to see that TR is slowly creeping into your consciousness. I would recommend covering more of the early stuff before jumping way ahead. You'll gain a better perspective on his learning curve and artistic output. And on the idea of Side 1 of an LP drastically differing from Side Two, check out some of Daryl Hall and John Oates from the 70's. Albums like Abandoned Luncheonette, War Babies, Bigger Than Both Of Us, Along The Red Ledge have very contrasting A and B sides. Can't wait for the next. Cheers!

Todd fan here. I recommend Nearly Human from 1989….a real Philly Soul album….great stuff

The bag lady always makes me cry, it's so sad, it's a song about the homeless people! Too far gone ( the life version is so funny) is one of my favorite songs. This album needs to grow more..like most of the time with TR's albums.
