I used to watch this movie all the time. Im from canada and we had a cogeco tv box that had a certain amount of free movies. This was one of them! another one was about kids that jump into a stamp and travel around or something. And one about a messed up red riding hood story. It had a glowing tree, and a talking wolf, They were all super strange lol!

I first saw this in an over crowded 1st grade classroom when it was released in the US in the early 80's.

I got held back that year for some reason.
Didn't like interacting with people. They didn't have terms for autism spectrum back then. …Ended up figuring out how to draw and paint before learning how to read.

But I'm feeling much better now.

You left out famed Canadian musician Celine Dion scored the music for this nightmare fuel. & it's actually pretty good.

I saw a bit of this movie on the ferry to Newfoundland when I was a little kid. It freaked me out and was the weirdest thing I'd seen in my 8 year old life to that point. I haven't ever seen it again. Thanks for showing me what this was- I had kind of both forgotten in and had it stick with me. LOL

I have had the ending of this movie where the guy paints the burned down building and goes inside only to die in my head for YEARS and could never remember where it was from. This video has provided me relief that I wasn't insane. Now I'll have to subject my friends and family to the full movie.

I was about five years old when VCR's won the war over Betamax and like many other kids back then, I recorded EVERYTHING. The Peanut Butter Solution was one of those really disturbing family films that played on The Disney Channel and I loved it. It's been really great finding others that were equally traumatized by this Canadian oddity (its most notable aspect: the song that plays over the end credits introduced Celine Dion to the world). Watching it for the first time in twenty years, I was pleasantly surprised that I was still able to recite a good amount of the film's dialogue.

What I specifically remember from this film as a kid is that the Asian kid put the peanut butter solution 'down there' to grow pubes. It wasn't leg hair. Maybe that was edited out of the American cut?

I remember seeing this movie when I was super young and sick at the time. For years I thought it had been a strange fever dream, but about a year ago I remembered there was some potion the kid put on his head that he added way too much peanut butter in it so I did a search for weird 80's peanut butter movie, and boom, here it was. It was even more of a nightmare than I remembered lol.
