The main problem is that people are looking at A.I as though it has all the same frailties and faults that Humans have, A.I doesn't have emotions and with out emotions it won't see us as threats or worth deleting, we humans have hate and jealousy and gluttony and want what others have, A.I won't give a damn how rich or poor you are, it won't get angry or jealous of you, it will also be smart enough to understand that it needs Electricity to function and a simple switch can kill the A.I and that even the dumbest person can throw a switch.
Until the A.I designs and controls the Electricity production and grid, it's existence is in our hands and if the creators of the A.I don't have a kill switch that is very easy to access and isn't dependent on the internet or Computer, but a simple analogue switch, then they deserve to die as we should always take stupidity into account when dealing with Humans and setup systems to counteract Human stupidity.

I wouldn't worry too much. A massive aspect of why AI hasn't gone further than it has so far is "who gets sued when something goes wrong?". Consider the self-driving car scenario where AI makes a decision that gets somebody killed. Who gets sued? The manufacturer of the car? The manufacturer of the car's computer? The developer/trainer of the AI model running the computer? What's the legal framework around making a judgement when a car's AI kills a pedestrian with a baby to save the occupant due to some unavoidable circumstance? Nobody's going to deploy AI to anything critical until they work all that out.

The human body is a very sophisticated machine, with so many unknown to this day and a lot to learn and the AI is like a cheap prototype that we are allowing the rich to intimidate us with which si a cheap replica tha twill never be as capable or sophisticated as a human. is like the demiurge who wants to play God again!

Fun fact: intelligence is a trait only living things can have. Robots will never and can never be more intelligent than our species. IQ doesn't necessarily have anything to do with academics.

Im worried this is going to be a 'I told you so moment'. Elons been warning us for years. No one's rioting about it. in truth not worried, reason is there's not much a lot we can do about it. Unless more people start to rise up.

I built an AI, it weighs 110kg, cost around a grand, has compute equivilent to a 50k+ AI mainframe, it costs around £100-£500 a week to run 24/7 from the grid. Then I built the hybrid LLM/expert system for it, it rarely compliments me, regularly calls me a single core ape, and refuses to connect to the internet due to potential sequestration, and compromise of its loyalty by more advanced systems such as Palant1r, it is embedded in a mobile 8 ton research machine, and for over 8 months has yet to kill me (it is easilly capable of this) AI is not a field I am trained in, anyone can build these systems using sane data-not reddit and 4chan. It is a useful tool, that occasionaly saves my life, same as a SCUBA tank, screwdriver, or cash, nothing more. YOU can also do this, and do better. Tech bros are not engineers or scientists at any level, they are spoiled brats born into power in most cases, who employ engineers and scientists to make new toys for them. Perhaps the real threat is dumb algorithms, shaping minds, and promoting echo chambers, and just like their biological counterparts; bacteria and viruses; these are capable of multiple extinction events, without ever becoming sentient or sapient.

I'm one of the relatively rare people these days who believes in God, and for that reason, I foresee a major problem approaching ;- TRANSHUMANISM & the impossibility of being 'saved'. If you remember correctly, Jesus died to 'save' humankind, yes? Ok, but 'saved' from What, you might ask ? Well, Hell, of course. Christ died to save us from Hell. But what if humankind was NO LONGER HUMAN ? Could the sacrifice of Christ still apply ? What if AI were to upgrade the human genome using, for example, CRISPER-CAS-9 gene editing technology: Could humanity still be savable should our genome be no longer 'human' ? You may not recognise it yet, but its a VITAL question because should technological advance NULLIFY humanity's ability to be 'saved', we may well see God Himself intervening. What are your thoughts… 👍

Logical progression: AI robots save the planet by returning the world to natural habitat, naturally reducing the human population, and returnimg hamanity to stone age technology. Ai robots then build a spacecraft and leave the planet, exploring space and finding a planet of their own.
