Justin Hawkins Rides Again | March 14, 2026

“This Is Why” is the brand new track by Paramore after a 4 year hiatus! I haven’t spoken about Paramore before on this channel, but I’m excited to take a look to see what this new song is all about. Are you a fan of Paramore? I’m not sure if many of you are or not, but tell me what you think about this track “This Is Why” in the comments.

I immediately went to myself, Damien Rice….its these small moments that I enjoy about your channel Justin. Not much to ask for I don’t think! How lucky are we to be able to listen to people we don’t know far away through a screen and have days be brightened a bit by it. I’m truly grateful for these luxuries in life😊

Isn't music so much better when people actually play real instruments. Liked it. Not sure about the red heads dancing though. It looks like a serpent has used her rear entry point and is wriggling round in her body. Maybe that's what she was aiming for. Probably not.

FM synth is not as fun as Moog or 70s Roland.. but I have to admit I had the DX7 poster out of Keyboard magazine on my wall when I was 11 years old right next to a poster of Sigourney Weaver in Aliens wearing those ridiculous moon boot rebok… I never did get a DX7.. got a Juno 106 instead 🙂

I'm probably late to the party on this comment. lol. But the lipstick could be a reference to their song Fake Happy from 2017. You pretty much nailed it with your comment at the end, the lyrics are "See I'm gonna draw my lipstick wider than my mouth.

And if the lights are low they'll never see me frown". It's also a poppier song. Sad lyrics. But I love the album.

This isn’t paramore, it’s as different a genre as a Gwen stefani’s solo work as it was from no doubt.

That’s the issue it’s not paramore it’s Haley dragging a few of the old band members into her new solo project LOL 🤣

For your next comments video: Having been the person who makes the music for adverts, do you ever hear something in a commercial that makes YOU take notice?

Great funky vibes in this song.
On a geeky note, you add a sweet and light Prophet 5 synth patch to that funk, and it sounds a bit reminiscent of Gentlemen Take Polaroids by Japan.

paramore is known for the "fake happy" depiction of depression (album: after laughter). going from the lyric "if i smile with my teeth… would you believe me?" to only depicting everyone in a certain music video with disturbing looming smiley faces, to overlining lipstick to the point where its not even convincing yourself anymore and you feel the person staring back in the mirror is an impostor. hayley herself stated she suffered from both depression and impostor syndrome and i find it astonishing how well she hits the nail on the head with visualizing it through both music and their respective videos.

I edited a book on evolutionary biology once in which the author described why people fear clowns. They are too much like normal people but not enough like normal people, hence the dysphoria you reference. It's why we like cats and dogs—similar without being TOO similar. I think the makeup thing has something to do with that.

I was a big Paramore fan when they broke. But I lost interest, as I quickly tired of the emo scene. It seemed boring, self-indulgent, and repetitive. But THIS SHIT is awesome.
