I haven’t reviewed Ed Sheeran on here before but I thought I’d react to his new song Boat, partly because it was shot on Lowestoft Beach where I grew up. I have to say this surprised me. What do you think?

I'm sorry but I cringe every time I see Ed Sheeran since his cameo on Game of Thrones. It's a shame as his voice is pretty good, but I'll never be able to tolerate more than few seconds without feeling the urge to shudder in revulsion. Thank you Justin for showing just the right amount of Sheeran I can cope with 🙂

Sheeran's appeal to the masses, 1. Catchy hooks, 2. His look, seems like a simple boy next door, 3. Songs are never excessively electronic, most have an acoustic vibe to them. You could picture a kid trying to play his songs with a guitar and a chord playing app…

I would enjoy these a lot more if you would let the piece you are reviewing play a bit more.
It is very frustrating I respect your interpretations and comments otherwise I wouldn’t be watching, but need to feel the piece with you and you should let it have time to breath instead of choking it.

I can't stand his version of pop music to be honest but you cannot deny his talent and that he's a lovely guy but all accounts. It's simply not my thing. I bet he'd write the fuck out of something country though. This sounds like a real cool country song. Would like to hear one of the big hitters singing it. Kasey Musgraves maybe. It's to gentle for miley. Anyway, was worth watching for the boat gags! 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻

Has anyone heard the Beatles do God only knows by the Beach boys A.I recently? With A.I technology, we have no idea if Ed sang this or said hello into a box and let the computer do the rest! The same goes with the video. We have all seen deep fake. You can't trust ANY music now to be from the original source.

Theory: Ed is a genius at "borrowing" bits and pieces from anywhere he likes, throwing them together with some mediocre lyrics (because who cares?) and producing the product as an immensely consumbable item for sale. Quite possibly making him one of the smartest business (strikethrough music) people in recent memory.
(Calm down at the back, it's just a theory).

I am an Ed Sheeran fan. When we started watching our grandson (now almost 3) I played him all sorts of music. I’d only really been aware of Perfect and the A Team but gradually I heard the range of his songs. He is a great singer, an excellent guitarist and a great song writer. I love how he builds up his songs live on stage using his loop station. He loves to perform and is a great entertainer too.
This latest album is another direction again. Still wonderful!

So I watched your episode on Hi Ren and didn't get how good it was until I watched it. In this case I expected "The Best I've Heard In F***ing Ages" and actually it's "The best Ed Sheeran song I've heard in absolutely ages". It's not even 10% of how good Hi Ren is.
