Very cool! That must take some serious mental fortitude as well as obviously good health and great stamina–four hours is a long time to be moving through all that sensory overload.
I wonder if "Nathan" had fun with his role =)

These kinds of industries always fascinate me because they are (thankfully) not needed 99.999% of the time but when you need them there is absolutely no acceptable substitute and the immense amount of training and prep that they do is crucial.

I avoided this one for a short while. The thumbnail of you in the BA just spooked me. I was worried for you Tom. Glad you had a great time with the MRS 🙂

In SCUBA diving Closed Circuit Rebreathers (CCRs) are used in cave diving and technical diving, also professional underwater photographers use them due to the lack of bubbles. Dräger used to make various closed circuit rebreathers and semi-closed circuit rebreathers (Dolphin/Atlantis) for divers. Now they make anaesthetic machines and medical ventilators and are in the safety industry like firefighting and mine rescue with closed circuit rebreathers for toxic environments, they still do manufacture specialist rebreathers but for military diving.

My Grandad was on the rescue team when he went to the mines after school. Thankfully I think he only had to go in a couple of times.
Great video Tom. I'm loving this series.

one of the reasons they do a lite edition is because they don't know your prior training, and if you were to really try to do something you are not trained for you could walk away with lifelong injuries
