The WORST Episode of Murder, She Wrote (Allegedly)
Apparently, this is one of the worst episodes of Murder, She Wrote. But don’t take my word for it. Or do.

You say the coach has a weak motive for both murders, which may be true, but I just watched a true crime story where a mother killed two husbands, because she was tired of them, and life insurance, and when she felt her back against the wall, she attempted to kill one of her girls, HER GIRLS, and write her a suicide note, framing her own daughter for the murders. Terrible motives all around, and all true. 🤦🏼♂️

Is that background music always in your videos? How have I never noticed before? It was extremely odd and distracting to me.

@pushinguproses What's the background music starting at 2:45 until 4:25, if you don't mind?
Because the part from 3:15 to 3:40 has become an earworm to me that's driving me crazy, and I need to find out the title. 😅

Bill was not innocent! He knew what happened. His death was his own fault. He and the coach were planning on killing Durban.

On initial pass, I thought you were "ready to tear into this one with Cutty Sark" PushingUpRoses fueled by goofy MSW and cheap Scotch? Watch out! But "Cutting snark" makes much more sense, even if the alternative might make for an amusing recap.

Nope. I think The Petrified Florist is the worst. Every time I watch this episode, which is not often because of its plot, I go; seriously?

I'm 26 and I had never heard of Murder She Wrote before I found this channel. But my mom loved this show and I've been fully sucked in by everything about it. I would have been obsessed if I had found this show when I was a kid. Comedy/Mystery are my favorite fusion of genres. I personally latched onto Physch but I can just picture Pushing Up Roses and my mom chatting endlessly about Murder She Wrote and it makes my heart so happy for some reason.

How did Coach kill Bill with Bill's gun when Bill's gun was in the desk drawer?

April 8, 2026 at 11:05 am
At around six minutes in, when you zoom in on that newspaper article… well…. its an interesting read. And it has nothing to do with either ballparks or parking lots. It's about… an 11 year old girl killing a baby? HUH?
Fake newspapers in shows often use text from real ones so I wonder what story that was?

You would be amazed by the luxuries a person can sneak into prison through their anus.
It protects you from dropping the soap when you have a bottle of fine wine and choice cigars hidden away. Who would want to ruin that?

You don't have to ask me to watch your videos. I watch them over and over. You do great videos, and they deserve to be marketed! Imagine, where would we be if you didn't do some PR? A sad world indeed. And Basket deserves all the Fancy Feast!

I haven’t seen this one, but I’m surprised it’s considered the worst when MSW had so many dull-as-dishwater episodes. The one with Pat Hingle trying to solve the old murder has a great premise and is almost unwatchable, it’s so poorly paced, unsurprisingly written, visually boring. It’s an odd show, this one, because it will have one terrible episode and one surprisingly good episode (the Pat Hingle one is followed by “One White Rose for Death,” which may not have the cleverest mystery but is a good script).

What irked me about this episode was how they continually talked about the same touchdown and the same season continually. I wanted to scream at them to move on 😂

I don't know much about American football, but all football coaches in movies and tv pretty much think they are or are presented as parental figures to their students, so I assumed that's why the guy keeps calling them 'My boys.' But these characters often use this as an excuse to physically or sexually abuse them, so it just makes him sound more suspicious .

How is this the worst episode? Whomever voted this as the worst must not have gotten to season 6 and 7 with half the episodes missing Jessica. I personally think season 9 is the worst, but anyway. IMO, Durbin had the right to seek revenge, even though he wasn't the murder.

I have an episode request that I am dying to see you talk about!! It's Season 2, Episode 17 – One Good Bid Deserves a Murder. It's got a favorite actress of mine, Karen Black, absolutely hamming it up. But the reason I'm dying for you to cover it.. Harry McGraw drugs Jessica?! And.. they just stay friends? It's not a huge issue?! The end of the episode is the two of them walking off laughing together?
Please tell me you've seen this & have feelings.

I wonder if you'd ever be interested in covering season 2, episode 14 "keep home fries burning"? I watched it for the first time recently and I was SO proud of myself for being able to clock the who and why before the halfway mark. I'm pretty sure watching your reviews has given me the ability to really get into the mind if a MSW episode lol, cause the ep offered a lot of good options for who it could have been. I also really love Jessica and Seth's friendship in this one, they just keep clocking Sheriff Amos lol

Having just watched this episode, honestly, I can understand Jessica's disappointment at the end. Bill was her student too, someone she remembered fondly from when he was just a kid, and he died needlessly. I don't think she was unsympathetic to Durbin so much as she was mourning the death of a student and loss of some very old friends

I don’t know how I didn’t think of this one sooner, but the worst episode that actually has Jessica Fletcher in it has to be Southern Double Cross from season 12. It’s boring, silly, has terrible Australian accents, a grown man named “Roo,” and the solution to the murder is weirdly out of character for MSW. Please do this episode!

I'd like to recommend some of my fave episodes you haven't already covered.
Class Act: even though it's a non-Jessica episode, the characters are so good. It's such a fun episode! And the movie A Story to Die For. Has one of my fave moments when someone calls out Jess for being surrounded by murder but gets immediately embarrassed after.
