Framing John DeLorean, featuring Alec Baldwin, was released in July 2019, a mashup of documentary footage and reenactments of DeLorean’s extraordinary path. A month later brought the arrival of Driven starring Jason Sudeikis and Lee Pace and detailing DeLorean’s exhaustive – albeit questionable – quest to make the innovative, ethical sports car.

DeLorean wanted to make something at the cutting edge of technology. This car has hundreds of compromises.
What he should have done was make a 4 wheel drive car with 2 4 cylinder engines. The kind that have a transmission and differential attached that is in small front wheel drive cars. The front engine powers the front wheels, the rear engine powers the rear wheels. If EITHER engine or transaxle breaks down, you could still drive the car.
What he wound up with was a car with the V6 engine /transaxle from a Renault Fuego. Compared to a Mazda RX-7 the Mazda was better in every way.

At 6;25+- the narrator says that the body is made of steel; it is stainless steel. Regular steel rusts, stainless doesn'y. Very important. Raw steel has to be clear coated to have the silver colour and that wouldn't work in DMC factory.

John was a coke addict and was at the NYC DISCO FEVER CLUB. He was also an assett like you are sounding to make it look different because some classified info is getting released. In the end they all get knocked off because Inlost a lot of stupid friends that didnt listen. I knew in 1965.

Do the Edsel! Lots to unpack in that story: changing times, corporations out of touch with consumers, and lots of ahead-of-their-time features that became standard on later automobiles.
