If a demon asked you if you wanted to live your life over again the only correct response considering zero sum game theory would be yes. A better more equal question would be, would you rather live to 100 once or 50 twice.

You know when you read a book and it perfectly articulates strange, half-ashamed, secret feelings you've had for years? And then it guides you through those feelings, and suddenly, the way you see the world is completely different? That's how this book was for me. One of my absolute favorite books of all time.

This reminds me of Helpmeet by Naben Ruthnum, in which the attached lover becomes carer – with supernatural element. Quite a short read (200 pages?) I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on it.

I read this book a couple of years ago, and as much as I am interested in existential themes, this book just didn't click with me. I forced myself to finish it, but it is one of my worst reads ever. Repulsive and overrated, imo as an eastern european.

I remember trying to read this in high school, the concept totally eluded me. I wondered why he had to write about sex and women to get his point across. Now that I'm older I understand the absurdity.

I would say yes because the alternative (the cessation of Being/Experience) is a worst outcome. There is meaning to the suffering and struggle of life itself
