Derulo dropped an album last year and not only did no one care, but no one even noticed. It only peaked at 82 on the Billboard 200 and had no charting songs other than the single from 2017 that didn’t even chart again when the album dropped. I think we might have found ourselves another Trainwreckord.

Todd, if you’re wondering why a song like Loyal by Chris Brown specifically became a hit, and thinking why he was in 2014 and still is in 2025 relevant, it’s much more obvious now…

The fact that this song played at my 8th grade dance, and everyone went feral. THEY WERE DANCING TO A CHRIS BROWN SONG. I felt genuinely nauseous, not only because Chris Brown is a dick, but because the song SUCKS.

Fancy legitimately makes me angry because that hook is pure gold and charli xcx kills it but the rapping is so dogshit in that song. At least it gave us handy by weird al, he shows how much difference some good lyrics and a charismatic performer can make as he uses pretty much the exact same tempo in the rap but he makes it work with satisfying (and funny) lyrics and a good energy.

I've been a huge fan of Todd's reviews for a while now and have been going back and watching his old reviews. Music is very subjective and have found myself entertained by his work even if I didn't agree with what he was saying. Then I found out Hozier's "Take Me To Church" was an HM on the top 10 worst songs of the year list.

At least with Dark Horse the music video is interesting. Although with the Egyptian mythology setting, the lyric 'Make me your Aphrodite' in verse 1 would've worked it was instead 'Make me your Nephrite' to fit the music video accompanied with the song.
