The Spotify Lawsuit That Could Break the Music Business

Rock Feed | January 23, 2026

A shocking new lawsuit just dropped against Spotify — and it could change everything we know about streaming. The suit claims that Drake’s billions of Spotify streams were boosted by bots, and that Spotify allegedly turned a blind eye while real artists got cheated out of their earnings.

There’s no way Drake is that big. Call me biased, I don’t care for most new music, especially rap hip/hop, but he’s not very good. Give me Biggie or Tupac or that.

This has got to be the most Spotify thing ever. This has been happening for years now. New story, same result. Big artists get money, independent artists get nothing.

Its fraud!! My music will NoT b available on Spotify It will b available only on YouTube. Ad free!!! And free to you!! Its sludge metal and i choose to stay underground and Spotify has not been payin artist for their work and Spotify have made alot of money. And any artist or company that has cheated and scammed the system by using bots or other means to gain streams to make money should b treated as fraud. If u like sludgy grunge metal with no bs and raw vibes chk me out

Artificial streams is only part of the problem with streaming platforms…now with AI, they have created 'musicians' and groups that have a cool look, write hip songs, etc., so that they don't have to pay any people. Eventually, since most people are boring and like everything cookie-cut and fake, the most successful 'artists' will be AI-generated, meaning platforms will be able to eliminate payouts almost entirely. More profit… Solution? Turn it off, leave your house, go see gigs. Do something that isn't super convenient now and then, for the greater good. Real art is dying.

This is happening across all industry Youtubers even sellers on Amazon are doing the same thing hiring marketing companies who go looking for people on telegram we add their products to our Amazon cart just so we can manipulate the algorithm for the product. Youtubers are also hiring marketing companies who send out links to their teamsand the teams go and follow thus getting the Youtubers algorithm going success at this point is paid manipulation it’s not even real success.

I honestly wish physical media still had more relevance today. Buying a cd from an artist feels good because I'm directly supporting the artist, plus it's a one time payment ans that music can't just be taken away on a whim like it can for digital streaming. I hope Spotify as a corporation gets shut down permanently, i feel we'd all be better off if it did.

Streaming won’t go away and most artists have learned to adapt. It’s okay to be nostalgic sometimes but always remember to look towards the future. But bots that made Drake big must be stopped, that dude doesn’t deserve to be the “mega star” he thinks he is.

It's always been about greed. Why do you think companies went after Napster. When I was younger we made mix tapes and recorded albums but bands were still making money. I'm glad that streaming services are getting karma.
