The Slipknot ‘Duality’ House Took a Sad Turn

Rock Feed | April 8, 2026

Very few songs in rock or metal history have reached over 1 billion streams on Spotify — but Slipknot’s “Duality” did. It’s one of the most powerful and chaotic moments in heavy music history, and the house where it all happened has become legendary among fans.

That same house — the one torn apart during the filming of the “Duality” music video — is now facing foreclosure. What was once the scene of pure mayhem and unity for the Maggots has turned into something far darker.

In this video, we take a look back at what really happened inside the Slipknot “Duality” house, the insane chaos that unfolded during the shoot, and why this property has become one of the most infamous locations in metal history.

You tell it as if it was "random chaos", but it was directed in pieces for sure. – Stop making people think what they're fooled into believing already. Like movies are real, right?… Give me a break.

Apparently it sold in September 2025 for $300,000
So they missed one payment is what is going on?
Or they bought it recreated a story and auctioned it off to profit possibly.🤷‍♀️

What I heard way back then was the band turned it into a contest asking fans if there was anyone willing to donate their house knowing full well it would be thrashed for the video? I wasn’t there though so what the hell do I know.

You know… i think it won't go to a fan… if the housing market would be fare.. but it's a auction.. so some company probably will pay like 500.000 bucks to the bank.. and then fix some things to sell it at like 750.000

I never understood the big deal at the time, the house was (supposedly) set to be demolished anyway so what if the fans destroyed a lot of it ahead? Now you're saying it was actually never set to be demolished and it even had to be repaired?! It all makes sense now.

Something worth noting about the location of the music video: it was the home of a major fan of Slipknot. Not only did he allow the bad to film the music video in his house, he was totally on board with it being destroyed.

Not only was he NOT shocked by the damages, he was quite pleased with them. And he got his house repaired and renovated, so win win.
