The Secret Hidden in Europe’s Banknotes | Tales From the Bottle
Europe’s currency, the Euro, was initially designed with strict rules in mind, but these rules eventually went out the window with one cheeky plan.
“The Eurobridges Spijkenisse, locally known as the Spijkenisser Eurobruggen, is an applied arts project in the city of Spijkenisse, in the Dutch province of South Holland. The project was built in the residential area Het Land.
The bridges were designed to represent the images on the reverse of euro banknotes. The bridges of the 10 and 50 euro banknotes were opened on 26 October 2011 by the then Queen’s commissioner of South Holland Jan Franssen. The 5 and 20 banknotes were placed after with only one side representing the banknotes. The 200 eurobridge opened on 17 October 2012. On 26 September 2013, the final eurobridges opened representing the 100 and 500 banknotes.
The bridges were designed by Robin Stam. They are made from a concrete base with coloured concrete panels placed on the sides.”

Not (as you said after 05:41) only some of the new Euro banknote designs are highly questionable – they all are. Also, they are all quite ugly and lack any esprit. My poor wallet…

Hey, shut up, don't throw my beloved Design G under the bus – if you want to highlight Corporate Memphis, look no further than Design C (urgh, the front has such beautiful references, why does the back look so awful)
Although I agree the birb designs look better on average (D, H, J <3 ), I don't mind Design G at all, it's my favourite out of the famous Europeans designs. What's yours?

Fyi the Euro Bank notes are only printed by the ECB while every nations Central Bank can mint their own coins. So the notes cant be made unique for every country (legally)
