Also some of the scenes with the T-1000 in T2 were too much body horror for James Cameron. Apparently there was a scene in the helicopter chase where James Cameron decides to show the reality of how a super-intelligent liquid metal AI would fly a helicopter and shoot a machine pistol at the same time… it would grow a third arm out of its chest, because you would already need need two hands and both feet to fly a helicopter!

CAVE 4 Life (or I guess "more painful death" in this case). there's nothing but starvation (best case) and getting stuck upside down unable to turn around and waiting for your heart to give out (Nutty Putty Cave incident). That stuff can happen on the ocean like the real life crew of the USS Indianapolis mentioned by Quint in Jaws… but there are also amazing stories of survival like Captain Bligh's crew after the Mutiny on the Bounty and Poon Lim who survived for 133 days after his ship got torpedoed during World War II.
just saying that there is upside with ocean. there is only downside with cave.

I was looking at all the movies I have and my thoughts are maybe Samuel L jackson or Leo Decaprio from Django Unchained, or Cristoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds, or the guys in clockwork orange… i think the scariest are actually "real" people who show they are bad, not fake scary characters like freddy or jason or whatever. if you've seen season 1 of true detective, the main bad guy at the end is scary af because of what he did and everything, that was actually a psychopath.

The body horror of seeing Mark Hamil transform into a worm creature in Guyver is a core memory. Scariest villain: Pinhead from Hellraiser and Candyman.

Got to differentiate between anti hero and villain too. But the SCARIEST villain that is not deserved is Jaws 🙁 this bro shark was just doing his job and it led to everyone fearing sharks and mass killings, I think even spielberg regretted it.
