11:15 yes but most people, especially those prone to shoplifting, didn't know them. News organizations started yelling it thru a megaphone and showing how unpunisit was. They basically ran ads for shoplifting

You would have to watch 8,000 youtube videos of shoplifters stealing a felony level of goods ($1,000~) in order to match what that San Diego couple were proven to have stolen, they clearly have stolen much more that you cannot prove. Organized criminals are just in another league compared to petty ones.

I hate how in response to this comoanies are just treating all customers like criminals

Like I've tried to by shit from a walmart late a night and they lost a customwr because shit I wantsd to purrchase was locked away – their loss at the end of the day like ok

Grocery stores are like notoriously low margin businesses is my price controls on groceries are stupid because it's like you're just guaranteeing you're going to have to subsidize the entire industry

Yeah I mean the legal system just needs to exempt employees who tried to intervene in shoplifting from prosecution it's the same way like you can intervene in like an activist that you're watching but because you probably have to get in a fight with one of the people that person can then file charges against you and that's just complete b*****

Hit the nail on the head – it’s due to high living costs. The California law about $950 is fairly old, but retail theft only became a huge issue now.

That's one aspect of all the crime that's going on the other aspect of all the crime that's going on is what youre listening to, AI.
I am sick of a I and it's just getting started.

The problem is that court settlements are now too high, back in the day a store owner or employee would defend their merchandise and not have to worry about a jury awarding the perps millions for their injuries

When I worked in retail we were trained that the professional shoplifter matches Michelle Mack's description perfectly. People often suspect other individuals but it's someone from Michelle's background that's stealing professionally and organizing theft rings.

As someone who deals with numbers all day long, I am telling you for a fact that chargeback fraudsters, scammers, and thieves like this dramatically increase prices and are the reason why returns will be prohibited in the future. In the near future, most retailers may stop taking some forms of credit altogether from banks with the lowest income customer bases. There's a whole lot of things normal people do not see that's changing. Everyone from TEMU to Walmart to high-end boutiques is on the same understanding.

I seen the abuse of the self checkout when I go to pay myself. Most I see they scan a few items (cheap ones) and just don't pay for the higher price ones (and usually they bag the items so when walking out is hard to notice). Is rather common sadly, though is usually food items I see them do it (meats and higher prices items).

Im sorry bro. You're just a egghead if you think prop 36 is going to solve or change anything. ALL it will do is divert tax dollars into DA offices and jails.

Think about the insanity. A felony is LITERALLY the worst thing a human being can do — so bad we strip them of their foundational American rights. Bro you think stealing a freaking cell phone raises to that level?? You conservative fascists are INSANE.

Cultural decline – people just think it is ok to steal. Why shouldn't they? We told them in 2020 it was ok to Burn, Loot and Murder, so what's the big deal about a thing of lipstick?

You realize that Mack got greater penalties than anyone did in the 2020 riots for burning down entire stores?

Online marketplaces should also be fined when they make an arrest like this. They KNOW stuff is stolen and being sold and pretend not to notice. Etsy getting sued for copyright infrigement caused them to start cracking down. Eventually marketplaces will screen or manage their sellers better.
