Sugar Ray is actually really underappreciated IMO. I'm sure this is colored by nostalgia, but 14:59 is an interesting record with some cool tracks, some of which are just downright weird but dope (Personal Space Invader, lookin at u)

Nobody just "sells out and becomes more popular" you have to have talent and song writing abilities. You have to be able to write a hook be memorable and market themselves.
Selling out implies that its easy.

Sugar Ray's first album was pretty solid, great music while driving around with friends.
    Anything later was not good.
I saw them play at Epcot a few years ago and it was really sad.

I went to high school with Mark McGrath. We were in separate friend groups but our paths did cross when we were put in the same CCD class in 8th grade and as a group we decided to go to Knott’s Berry Farm. I must say I was prone to bullying during that time but Mark McGrath never disrespected me. Happy he found some success with his life.

Honestly they made the right decision. Their hardest stuff just sounded corny, cheesy and bad, and their softer songs sounded much better, but also, authentic. You can’t get mad at that.

I was introduced to Sugar Ray through the Road Rash 3D videogame – same with Kid Rock oddly enough.

That entire soundtrack is awesome, but never did I imagine those two bands "evolving" into what they became.

This might sound crazy but I am 49 and my wife tells me we are going to our friends for a party but there is a free concert in her community for the community's anniversary. So we walk over to the park where the show is and I am told Sugar ray is playing. I rolled my eyes as many people probably do when they hear the name Sugar Ray but i did think it was weird they would play this gig. To my astonishment they were actually really good and they played bunch of covers and we had a blast.

They just performed at conference I was at. They were actually good! You could tell he understands the audience, he basically poked fun at himself. Played all their hits and then did a bunch of covers from a range of genres. Violent Femmes, Beastie Boys, Backstreet Boys and Blink 182.

Back in the sugar gay days, when i was a teen, my buddy talked me into the blonde hair tips. We had been drinking al night. He was so drunk I woke up looking like eminem. No tips lol just blonde. Looked like a goof with yellow hair. Didnt fit my personality at all. It works for some ppl but definitely not me

I thought sugar Ray producing more stuff like fly was a genius move. Me and a lot of my friends. Love Sugar Ray. Music for cougars is a great album. It has songs that should have been singles too. Little yachty is an excellent album too
