After exiting a cab, a restaurant, a hotel, or a train, or following the delivery of a package or an exchange with a customer service representative, it’s always the same request: please provide a rating. Whether it’s a 1 to 10 scale ask or the ubiquitous 1 to 5 – star review, it’s quick, machine-like, and painless for the person providing the rating. Behind these seemingly benign requests, lurks a biased labor monitoring system fueled directly by the customer, unbeknownst to us. Added to this is a multitude of invisible ratings which serve as raw material for algorithms used by secretive companies that claim to be able to predict the future. The film takes a critical look at the “democratization” of rating systems and the consequences of this practice in our personal lives and for our collective freedoms.

victim of this nomsense at the academy. it is forcing me to retire. people are not numbers, scores, or ratings. Morally abhorrent. An assault on the dignity of the whole person

When you get to minute 37 and 38 the video freezes because she's giving important information about a data analytics company and there's no way to make the video continue playing till the end. I think the company's name is SIFT.
