The Political Divide Is About To Get SO Much Worse

Callais decision last week, the race to the bottom has started. Every state in the union is now considering its options for gerrymandering the other party out of existence, to the detriment of all of us and of democracy.

18:30 this whole rant about how you think the Democratic national committee would become leftist suddenly for no reason is just so delusional. The DNC has never been the leftist or the progressive party. It's always been the pro establishment power-hungry party that happens to be blue and sometimes has champion somewhat progressive policies in its hunger for power. Until we end citizens United there will be no motivation for the DNC to be leftist. Because the politicians make the most money with pro establishment policy that benefits big oil and various other big moneyed interests.

You might as well be saying "what if the Republican Party used all of this acquired power to balance the budget and cut military spending and reduce taxes for all improve conservation efforts by fighting against big oil and reform marital law to be more hopeful to society and regulate social media to not be harmful and ban it from schools." all of those policies are well within conservative ideology, but far away from Republican ideology because the Republican Party has been co-opted by the pro establishment, elite and donors. So has the Democratic Party, which is what makes this rant so delusional.

Candidates who really should belong to the other party primarying in the only party that can win in a certain area is not an "edgelord strategy", it's just how things already work in areas that only one party can realistically win. The Houston TX mayoral race and county/local offices in the Black Belt areas of Alabama are two examples that I have personal experience with – folks who would be Republicans anywhere else run in the Democratic primary and the primary, not the general, is the most important election. The main issue there is going to be motivating the voters who would back you to 1) vote in the primary and 2) vote in the correct primary

I’m tired. And I don’t even know if all this stuff this administration have done can be reversed in the future…if there is another administration 🤦🏾‍♀️

Came to comment that on 5/8/26, the Virginia Supreme Court tossed out a voter approved congressional map, ON A TECHNICALITY!
The same week, Tennessee supermajority Rs suspended a current law saying no redistricting without 10 year census, suspended a law notifying Tennessee citizens of new maps, and approved a 9 R 0 D map

The utter lack of integrity in some of our Supreme Court justices is astounding. It's like they're purposely running our country into the ground.

    We need power back immediately.

Gerrymandering is just a way to say that Land has more voting power than people.

It actually kind of is in the spirit of the founding fathers.
So fuck the founding fathers and fuck that bullshit.

If the vote of a wealthy farmer is worth more than the vote of someone renting an apartment in the city, then we don't have democracy, we have a plutocracy that's barely a step away from monarchy

Uh, no, the Senate was to give the less populous states in the NORTH an equal voice to the more populous states in the South (combined with the 3/5 compromise). Hi from NH, one of the original 13 colonies which has only 2 Reps. There was some discussion of redrawing our districts too… but it got thrown out because even the R's running the state (all of our Federal Congresspeople are D, but R's hold both the State houses and the governor's mansion) know that it won't actually do anything.

In Australia, we have a totally separate body from the government federally and at the state level who make and review voting electrics every few years to make sure that the electorate affair and if we have growth that they add an electorate or if people move out of one area we also would remove an electric but usually they’re only ever added that way we cannot gerrymander like America can

Think about pulling a reverse Fetterman. You know him, the guy who ran on liberal values but has voted against those policies at EVERY opportunity. Do that, but to Republicans!

So in my youth i was registered as a republican even though i didn't really agree with either party completely. After cheto man being reelected and being more tapped into news (your and other channels thank you so much for what your do) as well as my Fiancé opening my eyes I defiantly lean democrat but consider myself an Independent. I have not changed my party affiliation for the reason you have mentioned. Infiltration/ damage control. finding the less shitty option or closer to center option and voting for them, because i do live in the heavily republican state FL.

USA was never a democracy or hardly ever had sufficient democratic principles to be considered a democracy (even as a republic). It was never a country of the free and so it was never a great country!

I think i have a solution go ahead with the gerrymander do it so horribly that theres a democrat everywhere and once there is no one left to oppose this pass as many progressive laws as you can this only while we do the next porrion which is pass a constitutional amendment that says gerrymandering is only a thing done bg neutral parties or even better yet get rid of the system all together by just counting individual votes for elections like they do in other contries india and mexico are two countries who do it this way

Ok. So democrats just need to run as Republicans and then water that Republican vote down… Or go completely opposite.. and run as an independent and lie to the people and tell them that they all get what they want even if the promises go instinct against each other… I mean that the playbook of the Republicans, look at what our great leader did….anyone paying an iota of attention..can tell you that's what he was doing . And that why he has loss so much of those independent votes he gained… I mean just lie.. it's the government book.. it's not new. I have always fought fire with fire and I do believe in going lower.
