The Most Terrifying Summer In New York History
New York City in the 1970s was a nightmare. Crime was exploding, the streets felt lawless, and terrified residents wondered if the police had lost control. Then things got worse. As fear spread across the city, one of the deadliest serial killers in American history began hunting victims from the shadows, turning New York into a real-life horror story. On this episode of Weird History we take a look at what it was like to be in New York while the Son of Sam terrorized the city.
Do you know any New Yorkers who survived the summer of Sam? Let us know in the comments.
(Much like real history, this video was produced entirely by human beings.)

Those head injuries and bullying, always bad bad medicine, so many serial killers had head injuries, were bullied, not to mention other key traits for others, like se*ual abuse, parental abuse or caregiver abuse, animal cruelty and more.
Almost always some of these key things, unless they are straight up psychos

I lived in Oklahoma during this time. I remember getting up every morning and turning on the Today Show to see if there had been any more murders overnight. It was a big deal all over the country not just in New York.

Not sure if Stacy Moskowitz really was a blonde. In the pic of her featured here in your video, she appears to have dark roots showing under bleach blonde hair.
