Whole Foods workers say they’re surveilled, tracked to the minute, and have to work two jobs to survive. Amazon bought the grocery chain in 2017. Now it’s like “walking around in the corpse of what used to be.” So workers are organizing to form the first Whole Foods union.

    All retail jobs are garbage

    I support the employees unionizing but it’s also the job climate in America

    These jobs shouldn’t even be counted on the job unemployment list

    When you gotta work 2 jobs it’s not a job it’s pocket money

    7:41 this is exactly why I cannot ethically be a manager again. It’s madness. We made all this money and this is what you’re paying the employees? We make 6 million on average a month with 40 employees and they can’t get at least $23hr?

    at this point if i was living in the usa i would avoid anything owned by bezos. dude would probably return slavery if it gave him extra mil a year (i.e. he wouldn't even notice that$, but would still squieeze every bit from ppl for as little as possible or for free)

    The South didnt win the Civil War and the word Slavery was abolished. But slavery survived and it comes back with a vengeance, it just calls itself differently, it calls itself employment.

    Any jobs with metrics suck – they are always thee worst, lowest paid jobs to begin with; then they sit on you. Team members don't have metrics. because they are a team, one supports the other so all benefit.

    Wait until the robots take the physical jobs.
    People are already signing new terms and conditions so you cant say anything anymore to anyone. Settled in closed arbitration like the recent court cases with ai suggesting kids kill themselves. Workers will gladly give up rights to have a job when none are available. Everyone is signing these new contracts just to have access to AI.

    My country Romania is jokingly called a 3rd world country but when I see these videos I have the impression that even Romanians are doing better than some people in US – I don't think I've ever heard of anyone working two jobs over there.

    I was part of a union. And it's just a scam. 😅
    They only care because of their kickbacks and union fees.
    Those jobs people are fighting for aren't worth the effort.
    Learn valuable skills and find better work opportunities.

    Unions are just there to convince not so bright people to stay at their crappy jobs. So they can get paid and collect Union fees.😅

That's why we're firing all of you and introducing our new humanoid robots (direct from the "I, Robot" corporation) at all our Whole Foods stores. Welcome to the future of work. Or "non-work" as the case may be. Thank you, and have a nice day…"

    Probably the most toxic place I've ever worked at. The metrics are one thing but the cliques and the favoritism are just absolutely ridiculous.

    Unfortunately this is now the American Way. I work for a non profit Mental Health organization and they treat the employee's the same . I think it's just the way most companies are operating these days sad we gotta work in these conditions in order to survive … Most health care workers either work 2 jobs or they work EXTREMELY long hours in order to survive

    I helped John sweep out his first store after the flood , I had free lunch for a year. It was such a good store back then now its a slave shop. Plus the products have gone down hill. I don't go there anymore I buy at a local owned market now. slave shop

    I was a cashier at Whole Foods for two years and it was actually my favorite job. I think the credit for that goes solely to the really great managers at my store. It makes me so sad how these employees were treated. Depressing asf
