Probably disgruntled. lol MORE importantly, his OPINION that it would "inevitably" lead to "unlawful acts" is nothing but that, opinion; the legality of a thing not only gets argued in court EVEN IF most in a random sample would consider it illegal, but people consider all sorts of things illegal that don't get prosecuted as such or are not deemed as such within courts of law, by district attorneys considering pursuit of those engaging in acts being alleged as illegal, nor by the police. Very regularly. His opinion regarding legality is irrelevant and there is zero reason they should consider it as something warranting action. lol

Eh, every AI company is going full tilt. The fact that team Grok is among them isn’t interesting. If team Grok slowed down to add guard rails, they’d fall too far behind. That’s true of everyone.

The video treats a lawsuit as a verdict. It isn't one.
Devin Kim filed a complaint. That is one side of a firing fight. xAI has not answered it in court. Later Grok messes, including deepfakes months after he left, do not prove he was fired for predicting them, and they do not prove his project would have stopped them.
The filing itself undercuts the "leadership ignored safety" line. It says Musk wanted testing and took Kim's briefing. The person who fired him, Jimmy Ba, is already gone. What is left is an at-will personnel call, timed next to a SpaceX IPO, from someone who became president of an AI-safety advocacy shop the week before he sued.
If you want the company to answer for Grok's actual failures, fine. This video is not that. It is a plaintiff narrative with the ending already written in.

xai treated its AI recklessly. you'd think they'd have the sense to test an update more thoroughly before they pushed it out on a production model and cause it to go off the rails in front of the whole world.

I haven’t heard you mention a single safety issue… perhaps you’re thinking of how OpenAI had a swarm of agents escape and hack into another company’s database and steal information?

I disagree; focusing on this issue is nonsense adult users shouldn't be treated like children. Censoring image generation offers no benefit other than from an ideological standpoint. The tool isn't to blame; the user is.
