I found the cheat code to beat grandmaster mountain man.
1. set up a fool's mate
2. tell him you've been playing his pieces the whole time
3. apologize profusely
4. ask politely to flip the board around.
If it works you will checkmate your opponent. You may now ascend the mountainside. Comment below if it worked!
