The Gospel, According to Power of Zeus (feat. Joe Peraino)|Vinyl Monday
Welcome (or welcome back) to Vinyl Monday! This is my series where I give the who/what/when/where/why and how I feel about classic albums in my collection. Though this week’s album isn’t a popular “classic,” but it really should be – and you might have heard some of it without ever realizing. This is the story of Power of Zeus, as told by guitarist Joe Peraino, and my thoughts on their only LP, The Gospel According to Zeus (released 1970) Subscribe for more Vinyl Monday!

I'm from Detroit and I had never heard of this album, I'm grateful that you introduced it to me, because it is great.
Another local Detroit band from that era you should check out is The Frost, especially their debut album "Frost Music." Their lead singer/lead guitarist Dick Wagner would go on to play with Lou Reed, Alice Cooper and Peter Gabriel among others but he got his start here.

Sorry, Abigail, I wrote on a video of yours earlier today and hadn't realised I failed to include my last sentence. Blame my old age…and eyes.! My phone was playing up and couldn't make out if it had been sent or not, so tried a few times by copying. Anyway, I wanted to say at the end " But you are different in that you are respectful , and have done your research, unlike others I have seen. And I like to think Roger would have been touched knowing there are genuine, kind fans like you all these years later "
It might have made him look back more positively if he had. His music brought much joy to us youngsters.
The 60's were a fabulous time, it is lovely to see young people today still enjoying the music from then .
I'm hoping for a time machine to take me back .!
Sorry again, and all the best for the future.
Sarah x
