Venus is closer to the Earth than the sun, so is this really a viable option?
The sun is increasing in luminosity, what we want to colonize somewhere further away from the sun?
Even if we colonized Venus, that would be a temporary solution. You could make the argument that colonizing Mars isn’t viable either, because the sun is increasing in luminosity. But here’s the thing, Mars will have a longer shelf life than Venus.

I don't understand why people think moving towards the Sun is a good idea. While a billion years is a long time, the Sun's luminosity is steadily increasing. Within the next billion years, it will be about 10% brighter. This increase will likely cause Earth's oceans to boil and sterilize the planet long before the Sun expands significantly as it approaches the end of its life. Going toward venus won't make dealing with it any easier. Let alone addressing the moving habital zone.
