This hit a note. I was visiting my cousin. I was going to go into the city that day. Looking to change my life and possibly after move in with my cousin. I was going to go to work with her, take a tour have lunch and explore NYC. I had the ticket to take the tour. Its at the museum. I have PTSD to this day.

    21. I was feeding my 6 month old son breakfast. I was angry because my husband and I were supposed to go to the Michael Jackson concert the day before then eat at the wtc. I remember watching the second plane hit. I cried falling on my knees as my son dropped cheerios on my head.

I was 18 almost 19 on 9/11. I was in my first week of college. I was in English class and we didn’t have a tv so we had no idea what happened. I saw the towers come down and then all of the rumors leading up to Flight 93 crashing. I also saw WTC 7 come down live on tv with my dad. This year was so much heavier than in past years.

I was working as a nurse in a London hospital, my best friend working in the south tower sent me a message saying a plane has hit the North tower, but he was ok and would call me that night, we switched the TV on at work and saw the south tower get hit, we never heard from Will again.

I was had just graduated college (8/11) with a CS degree. Ironically I was weighing my options between going into corporate America, going to the Navy as an officer or pursuing moving forward with the FBI intake process. After this my dad told me he did not want me moving forward going into the military. He did his 20 years and he knew what was coming after. I still can remember the moment my mom ran into my room to wake me up and tell me that we are under attack. before I could process what she was saying she turned on the tv a few seconds before the second plane hit. The rest of the day was a blur. It felt like a movie. I only remember hearing the planes from the nearby AFB scrambling and loud roars from their engines.

I remember hearing the capacity in those buildings… but it was early so they weren’t full plus primary schools were holding elections. There were typically over 100,000 people in those two buildings, workers and tourists. Those people wanted to kill as many as possible. We could’ve been dealing with many more deaths. But this day is seared into my memory.
