The End Of America’s Most Dangerous Amusement Park | Last Days
New Jersey’s Action Park, the world’s most infamous water park, closed its doors in 1996. It eventually reopened as Mountain Creek Waterpark, but in 2014 the son of the original owner brought back the legendary Action Park name. His goal was simple: recreate the thrill that made the original park famous, just without the injuries, lawsuits, and deadly reputation. But reviving America’s most dangerous amusement park proved far more complicated than anyone expected.
LAST DAYS is Weird History’s prestige format series focusing on final chapters, deaths, downfalls and conclusions. In this episode, we examine the shocking true story behind Action Park’s controversial comeback, the accidents that defined its legacy, and why the park’s final chapter ended in failure.
(Much like real history, this video was produced entirely by human beings.)

At Wild River Country (used to be near Little Rock, AR) they used to let us kids go down the 100-foot vertical drop “Lightning” water slide head first and on our backs. Terrifying.

In a country as litigious as 'murika even a high school drop out with room temp iQ could see how dumb this idea was.

That 74% figure isn't that surprising. With the opposition to the reasonable and legitimate response to the Covid pandemic and the continued support of the Trump presidency, its pretty clear there are a LOT of really, really stupid people in this country

I went in the summer of 1994.
If you were at the Tarzan swing and watched a chubby teenager immediately lose her grip and violently faceplant onto the water, while the whole crowd said “OOOOOOH”
Yeah that was me.

1:02 you should mention the 2020 Class Action Park documentary….thats way more in-depth and mentions that in 2018 a former employee, Joe Hession, bought the property and runs it now called Mountain Creek that’s prides itself on safety

My mother used to take us. I remember being at the top of this ride thinking this doesn’t feel safe. Nice to know a 10 year old was smarter than adults.

Yeah, the families of the deceased probably don't find the "I survived Action Park" very fun or ✨️'nostalgic'. 😢
It not like it was a freak accident. It wasn't safe to begin with.

Isn't it funny how the folks who hate safety regulations the most, are the most likely to call themselves "Pro-Life"?

Hate telling this story, but I have been to, Action Park, on several occasions. Extremely dangerous for damn near every “ride”. They had this one attraction deemed “The Wedgie Ride”, I observed on several occasions old men with cameras, documenting people coming down the slide. There was an apparent reason it was deemed “The Wedgie Ride”. I was a child every time I visited AP, and with hindsight, understand what the old man meant when he asked me and my cousins to “please go down the slide again”. Super unfortunate, and extremely tragic. Glad AP is shut down!

I have so many awesome memories of Action Park
Went there for my sixth grade senior trip with my church group every single summer in the 90s
I also remember having common sense and not jumping off the cliff when I knew I didn’t know how to swim….
