Netflix has become a powerhouse at churning out content over the past decade, and their latest blockbuster hit has all the ingredients to make a massive hit: big-name stars and directors, one of the biggest budgets ever, and… well that’s enough according to the algorithm!

The Electric State does raise some questions. Like why did they even base this on a graphic novel if they were just going to do their own thing anyway? Why didn’t the humans just deactivate all the robots if they didn’t believe they were alive anyway? How are the needs to sleep and to recharge that much different from each other? Did Mr. Peanut just sign a treaty with Bill Clinton?

To answer all these questions and more, step inside Ryan George’s Pitch Meeting for The Electric State!

That doesn't even make sense. Her brother isn't a robot, he's just trapped in a body that looks like one. Why would Mr Peanut look at him and his sister and he like "oh humans and robots can get along after all, I will relent"? He would more likely get bitter and feel like a human can love another machine but only when they feel like there is a human soul inside it, while they see the normal robots as soulless machines, etc.
And wait, Parts character happens to be a soldier they interview during the war and also happens to be the guy the run into later in the movie?

This was so disappointing. Especially considering how great 'Tales from the Loop' was. They knew how to nail this material with that. I don't know how they didn't take any of those wins into this entry.

I really really hate it when movie heroes do or say things so that movie can happen.
Yesterday was re-watching Limitless with Bradley Cooper, one of my favorite movies and i realized two things – Bradley's character had 2 million bucks in his account before his 100K debt was due and if only he payed the Russian mobster none of that chaos would even happened. Not only that but our hero also gives the mobster NZT pills, knowing full well what it will do to his mind. Like dude, you are actively trying to get in a world of trouble!!
Can't screenplays just be smart? Is it really impossible?
