Checking back in after about 2 months on Vyvanse, I actually find even though it raises my heart rate and such, I have never felt so calm in my life! I’m also more PAINFULLY aware of the needs for my body compared to before when I would push through without even realising, sometimes it makes me more tired than taking no medication, but it’s just removing the hyperarousal I used to use to keep going even through extreme fatigue because my brain was constantly wired on its own. (Oh and surprisingly my sleep quality has greatly increased while taking it)

I used to do amphetamine recreationally, i dont have adhd. If you dont have adhd, please just dont do it. I have tried lsd, shrooms and xtc before too, literally anything is better than doing amphetamine

Discipline will always be the best solution. In college you have to learn a fuck of a lot more than just what you hear in lecture. Learning discipline and the strategies to maintain it are among the most important lessons

I do not miss smoking over $600 ( about 50 grams give or take)worth of crystal a month. Somehow after 10 years im supposedly healthy so lucked out with that one i guess. You can be a functioning addict woth meth, although your chances of being someone who can handel their dope isnt high.

As someone with ADHD, tbh amphetamines fucked with my blood pressure and emotions, but dexmethylphenidate is the Best Thing Ever. I can actually direct my focus towards tasks when I want to. They make the autism way more apparent, but I don't mind that. I'm a transfemme math student, everyone already assumed I was autistic 💀

Maybe stiumlatuon is the problem, not the solution. Maybe upregulating dopamine receptors with less dopaminergic stimulation is the solution, not downregulating them inadvertently by increasing dopaminergic stimulation artificially with amphetamines…..

Is it possible that your brain can release too many of these chems with out drugs? I feel most people move and think too slowly for me on the daily

Can i be just naturally – without ever taking them – on a higher dosis of that stuff? Because a lot of these symptoms you describe when taking it, are already part of my daily life. I have never taken anything like that. I assume the body produces similar or just lower doses by itself? Can it be that some have a naturally higher production of that?

Does anyone have any experience with mixing amphet with alcohol and weed long term?
Ive used it on and off for maybe 2 years, to cut down on drinking and work harder. Raising my first child, while running a business and looking after my partner (has ADHD) and the upkeep of our home… its the only way i have the energy to work 10 hours, then come home and cook/clean/settle little man to sleep and look after a partner who struggles to function day to day.
Am i on a dangerous path?

I watch someone on adderall xr 30mg and Xanax 3mg a day unmask a severe and malignant cluster b personality. Her BPD morphed into antisocial and a dark triad. Shes lost all her friends and family and her child is probably next. She’s dangerous.

I lived in Europe as a child, my Mother worked for the Gov under a General, and my Father was in the Military. It took my Mom years, but she got the Army to see something strange was going on with me, and I was the first case of ADHD the Army recognized.

Yo yo people DO NOT. Been using amphetamines for 8 years straight, it doesnt work as it "promises". I was dissapointed mostly and has to quit. The best and shortest explanation you can get is Peter Griffin's quote – "Meth was great, but i think it is bad". We people just not built to master such a power (the fact was proven many times), so in the end you will be disappointed too, 100% sure.

say what you want but when prescribed correctly can be the difference between never finishing anything ever or actually being a functional human. if it knocks a few years off my life at the end fair enough

Oh god, the negative side effects, yeah. I have adhd and I took a prescription for about four days last year (2025). I couldn't feel hunger at all, leading to me almost fainting once. My focus was only good for an hour or so and then I'd be restless. The crash left me exhausted, and I had some pretty bad paranoid thinking while I was on it. Luckily I'm off this medication now.

I warn you guys about amphetamines. Been on it for 2 years, it has changed a lot to the better (better focus, more success in various parts of life, earned more money by artificially manipulating my brain into liking work and boring chores). The negative part? I lost my appetite. I can' eat normally most of the time anymore. My emotions are mostly drained. I feel like I'm just an empty vessel sometimes. My social contacts have gone from fun and emotional connections to more ratonal, cold connections. PROCEED WITH CARE

I've got Ritalin (Medikinet) as prescription for ADHD, although before I've heard more people like Elvanse better. But then after even more chatting about it with AI, it told me the following: that Amphetamines cause dopamine release in a way that is not bound to any trigger event, therefore it is seen as noise by the brain and it reacts by reducing the number of dopamine receptors. While Ritalin only slows down reabsorbtion of dopamine, meaning its still in the right area of the brain and at approx right time. So now I guess I got a more sustainable drug? and a more meaningful one from information theory standpoint? 😀

Well technically Adderall and Vyvanse, so dexamphetamine and lisdexamphetamine are more on the Methamphetamine side as regular amphetamine; they are more potant and have a longer duration than the "regular" amphetamine derivative…

I've found that lisdexamphetamine is indeed like stress in capsules for me.
Makes me impatient, slightly cranky, etc. But, it works. And it only feels off when I'm not actually trying to do something that I consider worthwhile doing.
It sadly doesn't help me start doing things I've been pushing off, but it sure helps work on them once I started.
Describing how medication can make you suddenly just function made me tear up. It's an amazing feeling the first time.
