YA movies were all the rage in the early 2010s, but a strange thing happened where those young adults… aged? It seems like the even younger adults did not share the same enthusiasm for the genre, and nothing made that clearer than the drop-off that was seen in the Divergent series.
The Divergent Series: Insurgent definitely raises some questions. Like how is Tris so good at hair styling? How did the bad guys get that magic technology in the past 5 days? How do any conspiracies exist when truth serum is a thing? How does Janine lose when she’s mind-controlling an entire faction?

So there's a huge war going on outside the fake research city but they somehow had the resources and time to build this huge city and wait for tens of generations of genetically engineered people to be born, grow, reproduce, and not go to war with each other and eradicate each other even though according to the team who created this research town having just one personality trait leads to war?
If they could genetically engineer people to have only one personality trait then why couldn't they genetically engineer people to have five personality traits?

Maze Runner had an interesting gimmick (the mazes) that they dumped to become a generic dystopia. Divergent had a really stupid gimmick (factions) that they went all-in on.

Do videos where you're a character in a movie & you give updates on the storyline every week? Robert Gianni, the film critic is approached after the 5 studios have a meeting & want to make you an offer you can't refuse… Codfather, how they offer you a catering business for location shoots to stop your pitch meetings? Ts&Cs disclaimer in fast scroll & fast talk at the end saying this is an original idea but it isn't meaning it is.
