THE CURE TO LAZINESS & BURNOUT (This Could Change Your Life!) | Tom Bilyeu

Tom Bilyeu | February 6, 2026

On Today’s Episode:

The frustration of sitting down to tackle that list of things to do today ends up the same way it did yesterday, the day before, and the day before that. Struggling with your most inner thoughts wondering if you’re the laziest person alive never feels good. Yet here you are dealing with the same sh*t, feeling as stuck today as you did two years ago.

Changing your beliefs and identity are the most important things you could ever do for yourself. What you believe about yourself, how you feel about yourself, and what you identify yourself as has consequences that show up in every area of your life, every single day.

Watch this episode today with an open mind willing to do something different than the same things you find yourself doing everyday. Maybe your problem isn’t about feeling lazy, but you’re suffering from burnout because you can never do enough and the things you’re doing aren’t even getting you the results you hope for.

Create yourself and your dreams through the power of habits: physical exercise, meditation, thinkitation, reading, and updating your list of the most important things.

“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” -William Shakespeare

I was a Christian I became a Muslim our religion is the last and the supreme religion, we believe in all the prophets of the past, we believe in their greatness and that they are the most perfect people, our religion has 5 basic principles, the word is faith, that is, saying Allah is one, praying 5 times a day, fasting for 1 month in Ramadan a year, if you are rich, a pilgrimage on your life. If you are rich, to go is to give 40 percent of your wealth to the poor

TOM, how long did it take you to implement the bright line: Monday through Friday, if you're awake, you're either working or working out??
Somedays, like this week, honestly, I'm so side tracked. 🙁 maybe I wonder if my goals are even achievable so I end up stopping a lot.

Lower back pain reason #1 is so spot on. The first time i fasted… within 24 hours my chronic ache there went away. When i went back to my typical diet the ache came back. Blown away by this i tried a fast again at some point… same thing. Having played around with it a bit I'm pretty certain its an inflammation issue related to carbs since it doesn't seem to be an issue on keto.

Good bad carrots and corn affect you glycemic value, basically sugar. I prepped these diets for a few years. Although it’s ‘zone’ they always said eat what you want but limit sugar and starch avoiding the inflammation they give us. Avocado super food!!!!

Tom – you mention here, as with elsewhere, how much you don't want to ever lose your wife ! And as much as she would not leave you over the following issue – still it would make a shift in your relationship to make a certain adjustment. In the last recent video I just heard you talk about the difficulty in remembering important dates, such as the anniversary date. That you even request to be reminded a week or so before by your wife. This goes against everything you teach ! This goes to show we all have blind spots, is one way of saying it, at any level of success and that we are all works in progress, working on more accountability, IF we are very intentional !

Let's change the point of reference – if it was an important meeting critical to the future of your business, you would not miss it for anything, right ? You would not be leaning on a reminder from any person – certainly not the other person that meeting is most important to !

And this is not to mention that you can have a device remind you, if that's what it takes ! Even then it may be somewhat hurtful that it's not a date you can just commit to memory and making sure not to forget without assistance ! But at least you would not be asking LIsa, to whom it's most important that you remember that date.

It would be huge for you both if you could make this adjustment, that may seem big but is really a very small thing. To say that you are not good with dates like that – is really then a choice you have made to not become good with dates like that !

Buuuhhhrrrooooo, Pretty wild that this is the second time today I hear somebody recommend diet because it's causing inflation problems to cause back problems! I'd never heard of this organ, and my girlfriend just showed me this one today, so I haven't had time to research more education about it. Curious if you are aware of this, and is what you're talking about, Or you figured out that it was the inflammation and you weren't aware of this weird organ thing yet. Lol. Much appreciated for the content. As always, brother, Good ** keep it up!

Don't cure the symptom, fix the cause. Commodifying every aspect of life is a pyschological problem. Not having freer access to food water information and housing, and overworking striving for "perfection" in inflating debt driven economy? Self entrapment.

Eh. Doesn’t work when you’re bipolar and adhd and depressed. And your theory on lower back pain is wrong, I’ve had 6 knee surgeries on my right knee, I have extreme pain and atrophy on my right leg and it’s significant smaller and weaker than the other leg, leading to my hip and back pain. I can’t work out or lift with the right leg because the knee is so torn up and broken.

I found myself as a late 30’s adult doing more and more of the things I would do as a preteen child. One is sitting with my hands like that too when I meditate xD

What does someone do when they don't want to be alive and don't care about anything because existence hurts and so they just don't bother because nothing not even things they're passionate about makes them want to live, meaning they just simply don't care about anything.

Get a reverse hyper from Rogue. You're deadlifting way too much volume. No wonder you have inflammation. More Nordic curls. Strengthen the hip flexors. Someone suggested Ben Patrick. That would wise.

Carbonated water can be a bit acid forming on the body. It's also acidic on your tooth enamel. One here or there is probably not a problem, but it's recommended to not drink this on a daily or regular basis. 🙁
