The Cure For What’s Wrong With Me?

Justin Hawkins Rides Again | June 11, 2026

Last weekend at Primavera, Olivia Rodrigo surprised fans when she invited The Cure’s Robert Smith on stage. They performed their latest collaboration, “What’s Wrong With Me?” which will be released this Friday on Rodrigo’s third album, “You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love”. This isn’t the first time Olivia Rodrigo has brought a legend on stage. So I ask you: Does this help to bring generations together or highlight a musical divide?

Since I heard the song it’s been stuck in my head…I keep going back and listening to it…can’t wait for the full album to come out on Friday💜
Also Olivia has so much influence that when she released her single “The Cure” it even caused songs from The Cure to also end up back on the charts so if she can do that more power to her for having a duet with Robert Smith…for then a whole new generation will then be introduced to the Cure this way❤

As an older The Cure fan, i love this. Olivia absolutely loves The Cure. even back before Olivia blew up with drivers license single debut, i recall seeing her wearing a The Cure shirt when she posted a video performing one of her unreleased songs called 21st century girl. so there’s proof! it’s floating around on youtube as well – also another good little song that will prob never see the light of day with actual release

Pretty awesome!! Love both the Cure and I've previously been really blown away by Olivia. I'm freakin 60 somehow, but love some new artists. My favourite is Beabadoobee.

Mr Smith really looks after the fans, I turned up one day and they had built the sound/lighting desk on top of my seat… They gave me front row seats instead which is unusual in those circumstances.

Robert has always been super supportive of younger/newer artists. I remember back in 2003 he did something with blink-182 on their self titled album. I like the artists of previous generations who are open minded and supportive of the new talent. As modern pop goes, I think you could do worse than Olivia. Plus I like that she’s clearly got genuine love for rock and alternative music
