In the early 1889’s a number of comic book artists broke from MARVEL to form their own company. One of them was ROB LIEFELD and his first title for the new company was called YOUNGBLOOD.

There was promise of YOUNGBLOOD action figures and a cartoon but it was a property that instead descended into years of legal wrangling, lawsuits and rights issues.

We did our best to sort it out until, suddenly, we didn’t have to…

I don’t get how Youngblood could become a highly in demand phenomenon when so few issues were published, and so erratically. Any Marvel title that took 30 years to reach issue 100 would be seen as a D-tier rack-warmer.

"Influence of George Perez" HUGE LOL.

Pretty much, his only decent work is Hawk and Dove, and that was saved by Karl Kesel, which fixed and covered all of Rob's shitty mistakes with his inking.

By the was, if the cover you mention is the art from the ad in the video, that is most certainly not inked by Jerry Ordway.

I had some friends who owned comic book stores and due to Liefled's soliciting and not delivering on the books, cost them money, not a fan of this guy and never will be.

This one time, my boyfriend and I linked each other images from a Rob Liefeld art gallery and made fun of our links at length. It was only after my boyfriend mentioned the Fantastic Four that I realized we had linked two different images and were making fun of them–they both had not-Wolverines chasing the protagonists through space with conveniently feet-hiding vehicles.

It's funny that Rob did indeed vacuum absorb his glimpses during conversations of industry mechanics including the materials and conditions used for the commercial production of comics (which his career success proves is more important than learning to draw a human foot or bowstring) but then as soon as he breaks in professionally he disposed of the well known industry standard of drawing images on pro comics board at much larger scale than they will appear in the published comic, and just drew on regular sized blank stationary paper because that was more comfortable for him.
