Actually deep sea gigantism has an explanation. Basically the bigger you are the longer you can last without food. In area with scarce food, being huge is advantageous because you can survive longer.
Also the thing about anglerfish is their immune system is severely reduced. It is thought because of the male attaching thing. If the female immune system attacks it then the entire thing collapses.

Can you make a video of the 10 most unique/interesting deep sea things? Blob fish are interesting because deep in the ocean they just look like a normal fish. Sea pigs are adorable, and hagfish/sea cucumbers make for a horrifying duo when put together. Plus dumbo octopus. I love the dumbo octopus.
