Miami Vice was a show that exploded into pop culture, changing the way TV was made and the fashion of the 1980’s, overseen by one of the most influential filmmakers of our time.
But Miami Vice also had its share of detractors for glamourizing drugs and violence.

Love watching Miami Vice of the Roku Action channel. Always surprised by how many episodes just end in a shootout with no criminal left to take into custody.

I got to know Bobby Foxworth, Don Johnson's stunt double and the stunt coordinator for Vice, a few years ago… man, he would tell some crazy stories about the Vice set and his time in Miami.

Season 3 was when Miami Vice was at its peak. When Crockett got the Testarosa is when the show became the show we loved!

I was in high school during the heyday of this show, and I recall those Miami Vice tuxedos during prom. I went with standard black but thought about it.

My dad was the Technical Advisor / Liason between the show and the Sheriffâs Office. He has great behind the scenes stories. Notably he was indirectly involved in getting Gregory Sierra replaced with Edward James Olmos. When they showed him the early episode he told them the Lt would never behave that way. He rarely gets directly involved and despite tropes rarely yells⌠he doesnât need to because heâs the guy in charge. They killed off Sierra and replaced him with Olmos who acted just as my dad described. Dad felt bad for Sierra he didnât know that was going to happen.

Gonna have to check this series out! Itâs one of many shows that my brother has talked about a lot and I have been curious about it for years now but I couldnât find it anywhere for a long time. Thanks for all the background information! It sounds fascinating and youâre still doing a fantastic job on your videos! I watched an older video yesterday that came out sort of biased but Iâm glad to know that youâre not usually like that! Keep up the great work! I still support you for your hard work on these videos! Miami Vice sounds like an amazing 80s show that I will certainly look into!
