In 1968 a controversial movie hit the big screen called “Night of the Living Dead”. Just over 15 years later, after a lot of behind the scenes wrangling, a threatened court case, a change in director, a firing of the effects guy and more another controversial film called “Return of the Living Dead” opened in theaters.

I was 18 years old when I rented this movie from my local video store. Oh man, this was incredible! Return of the Living Dead was such a good time! Gotta love those spooky zombies! As a '90s kid, I'm more partial to the zombies from Scooby-Doo: Zombie Island. At the same time, though, this movie is awesome! It's totally up there as my number 2 zombie film, and more so, my favorite one that's not Scooby-related and isn't a cartoon!

A will never forget loading a untiled self recorded VHS in and the TRASH DANCE played… 😮😮😮 rewind the whole tape and watched the "whole" movie that had been recorded… Sure enough I told all my friends… "YEAHHHHH!!!"

Man oh man, i remember seeing return part 2 on tv one afternoon as a kid. Maybe my dad rented a vhs tape idk but i remember seeing it as a kid. I rented return part 3 after i started reading fangoria and yeah, its not great.

Definitely identify with dan on seeing naked women in horror movies and dealing with that confusion.

Just saw this, and Yeah, Thriller was the most terrifying thing as a kid. It was the first time I fully defied my parents when they told me to go to bed. Good to know I wasn't the only one. Thanks Dan!

Wow, classic at least to me. Along with all the Romero joints, love all the zombie movies. Even though it still just thought about it freaks me out if it was to happen a real life Zombie apocalypse. But as for this movie is still remember the first time I saw it. I was a probably around 11-12 give or take. But my mom rented it out and we saw it i was like freaked out with tar man, the girl dancing and then she was zombie as well. Then they were running OH HELL NO!, then too top it all off. Then minute it started raining in the movie, it literally started raining and thundering outside. COME ON MAN!!!…Great times back in the day

I remember watching Thriller on a small portable tv in my parents bedroom for the first time, around same age as you. When he changed into the werewolf creature, I jumped off the bed screaming , running to my parents

I saw it way too young, I believe 8 or 9, and my father delighted in torturing me to tears with "I can smell your brains" for weeks because that was the bit that stuck with me. I love the movie now but I couldn't watch it for almost 20 years.

I saw Robocop when i was way too young, along with Face of Death. The scene where they killed Murphy while laughing messed me up so bad. And the acid burnt gooey thug… sheesh…

Tar man gave me nightmares when I moved into a new house it was dark and we had a basement like that. classic moments for me are

    Trash entertaining the group
Naked Zombie Trash eating a dudes neck
    Little person zombie
"dispatch come in.. SEND more pArAMedics"

    Freddy gets handsy with Tina
A missile hitting the town , starting the whole cycle over.

It is wild to me that despite Romero getting all the credit… This movie had a bigger cultural impact.

Play don't get me wrong….. I love the Romero movies to death. Undeath? But when you ask people to act like a zombie… they imitate the zombies from this movie.

I remember seeing RotLD3 first when it was released on VHS. I remember being confused by it having "return" and "3" in the title as i wasn't aware 1 or 2 existed. I actually don't think I've ever seen 1 or 2 to this very day.
    Yes, i know i should.

18:44 – I knew I'd heard a better Tar Man voice! The VHS voice scared the s*** out of me when I was 9. Was starting to think it was a Mandela effect, so really great to see that clip again
