I hate how sensitive people are today… im sorry this may be an unpopular opion… but jesus christ… people find ANYTHING to be offended over… hence the reason why we have so many feminine boys running around instead of actual men.. and the whole world is in a weird azzzzz place and everything is just disgusting… like my god .. the girl DOES have good genes… no one's saying that no one else does!!! I mean COME ONNNNN… get over yourselves… "oh my god!!! They didnt cast me instead… they must think im ugly"… and start a riot over it… Ugh it makes me sick af. So sick of all this crap.. cant do or day anything these days unless everything is done under DEI… its not even controversial… Sydney Sweeney IS BEAUTIFUL and DOES have amazing genes… HOW yall gonna blow that up.?? And matt riffe… bc he made stand up comedic jokes about DV…. please PLEASE show me HOW mnay comedians out here DONT make comedy about touchy subjects… this all makes me sick dude. Lol. I shouldn't have even commented lol I could go on and on… lol love the video Jaime as always ❤❤

I think the most hilarious thing about the jeans ad were outraged reactions like that “fascist propaganda” lady. She just made me want to shop at American Eagle and I don’t even wear jeans. Good job marketing team! They figured out people are sick of politically correct “cancel culture” and the woke reaction videos were so dumb that they just increased sales for the company.

I feel like 99.9% of the hate on Sydney Sweeney was out of pure jealousy.
if you’ve heard the way men talk about her you’d agree lol!
She’s a s3x icon for purely being desirable and effortlessly attractive in mannny ways. I’d go as far as to say look at the people complaining about her and then give a second thought to why they’re so mad.

I'm not personally offended by the Sweeney ad (coming from dv background i am by matt though), but I'm also not the "target" of the offense in this case. That doesn't mean I shouldn't care.
I do however think it would be much easier for a lot of people to NOT be offended by an ad that seems to play on racism and eugenics (but which maybe isn't) if the MUCH larger offenses in those areas were actually addressed and fixed. The wound is too large and unhealed for a lot of people to just wave it off.

Yes! I thought this right away about the Eagle Jeans ad. No one's telling me that they didn't know that people were going to go off pop and bang about it. Then other people would talk about the people going off pop and bang.
But as you say, Jaime, it's getting the ad talked about about, and that's what they wanted!

2 dudes in a cosmetic commercial… one that doesn't wear makeup and is pretty enough to be a girl, and one that has to wear makeup because he wants to be a girl.

I agree of course that outrage marketing is absolutely a thing that people shouldn't fall for but I think it's worth it to mention that it DOESN'T always work.

I believe the jeans/genes ad didn't work out particularly well for American Eagle and it certainly didn't for Sydney. As well as the outrage for it can be performative, so is often the support.

Sydney got publicity for sure but the people she was telegraphing to about having "blue genes" were NOT the same people that would have come out to support her upcominh movie shs worked super hard on and got all buff for about the lesbian boxer domestic violence survivor. A movie that, sure, might have flopped anyway but whose success pretty much relied on the support of the very people she gave a very obvious middle finger to.

You can't have the cake and eat it too.

57 year old dudes don't shop at American Eagle and they only care about Sydney Sweeney when "owning the libs" on Twitter or alone in their bedrooms at night.

I don't mind vocal fry, I think it's kind of delightful and I like that there's a wide range of ways people speak. It'd be boring if everyone was the same.

It just… Sounds very put-on when Sydney does it. It'd be funny if it was a joke but it's not a joke? You can tell that she's trying really hard to be like "Who, me? I'm just a hot girl! I don't have any intentions, I don’t even know what that word means haha! What are you even talking about right now? Are you saying these jeans AREN'T blue?"

I'm not outraged, but I do not like the tilt toward fascism. I don't like the message behind it at all. But… it's also made me really consider how and where I spend my money. No more blatant consumerism. And… outrage does send a message. Just look at Target.

I honestly could not care LESS about these ads. They're annoying, yes. But there are actual problems in the world and they're rage baiting.
I'm just watching this cuz I love Jaime and she makes me laugh.

The strange thing is so many people saw this from a race perspective and not a class one. Blue bloods is another term for the rich, wealthy, and elite. But it’s still not offensive. It’s marketing via puns and it worked.

This is the exact same feeling I had about the ad – I didn’t care about it either way , but how does anyone take Sydney Sweeney seriously while she actually talks like that ?

I hadn’t hear about the ELF thing until now but the ad gave me the same kind of secondhand embarrassment I would feel watching an elementary school improv competition. Personally most rage bait doesn’t make me rage, it just makes me feel whatever the emotional equivalent is of when you’re changing at the gym and your socks get wet on a random puddle and you have to spend the rest of the day wearing wet socks that were dampened by mystery water. Like all of it, the ads and the reactions and the reactions to the reactions and then the news reports about the reactions just seem like so much energy and I just get really tired.

Girl! Yes. The business of being offensive kinda started with Fox Network in the 80’s: Married With Children and The Simpsons. Both are brilliant, of course, and they spawned imitators and mean cruel humor kinda rubbed off on society. People being mean onscreen is very popular with audiences, they begin acting like this in real life and soon we saw it everywhere. FF to today. It’s kinda sad.
