The biggest corruption scandal in Latin America’s history
And possibly the whole world.

In 2014, the largest corruption scandal in Latin America’s history erupted in Brazil. It involved bribes between Petrobras, the largest state-owned oil company on the continent, and dozens of engineering firms. It also involved politicians, including three Brazilian presidents, Lula, Dilma Rousseff, and Michel Temer, as well as almost a third of Brazil’s congress.
Politicians all over Latin America were found guilty of taking bribes and profiting immensely from infrastructure and energy projects all over the continent. The scandal hit places like Itaborai especially hard. The companies involved were fined billions of dollars and laid off hundreds of thousands of workers as their projects abruptly stopped. Four years later, Brazil is still dealing with the fallout.

Now, 2025, convicted criminals from this corruption scheme, who returned stolen money to the Brazilian fed, were deemed innocent by the Brazilian Supreme Court. These people are now free and Lula is back in power.

I had an incredibly disturbing dream last night, I don’t know whether it was about the Politics in Brazil specifically, but it was about South America nonetheless because he was wearing a sash, although the same probably applies elsewhere. I went to go complain at the Local Town Hall about an important issue, but the particular Political Official I wanted to speak with was so criminally corrupt that he would literally cut my throat almost immediately, so out of fear I had to search for someone else to hear the issue. I reckon that sort of politically corrupt behaviour will “need to change” going forwards.

The biggest corruption scheme in the history of humanity, the big oil company that devastated our country economically, and the car wash that came to clean up our country was buried by a president who had say That there was no more corruption in his government, even though there was, and several people responsible were released… Including the leader who is now president of this total disgrace
It seems like a bad joke, but this is Brazil… It gets depressing
All the effort to remove those responsible from the government, and several others are back
