ESPN was great in the 90s. I don't know why I watched it so much. It was like the Weather Channel. or Home Shopping. You just ended up watching it for some reason to pass the time. Before school or late at night. I miss it. It's not the same now. It's all obnoxious podcast type programming. It doesn't have that quirky t.v. network feel it had back then. Neither does Comedy Central or any other cable channels now. Streaming can never replicate that "channel" feel that would have regular people working for it you could get attached to. 90s you knew Rhonda and Gilbert or Commander USA were on USA Network among others.. TNT had Joe Bob.. ESPN had their anchors.. MTV had their VJ's. So did VH-1 too to an extent. Comedy Central had Penn as the voice of the channel and regular comedians and personalities who would show up and Craig Kilborn eventually too then Stewart who was also on MTV a lot. Who does Netflix or Amazon Prime or Hulu or HBO Max have other than their series? they don't have personalities.. I guess the medium is different now. You don't need them. A lot of people won't even understand what I am reminiscing about.

My favorite was the one where this white guy was named Michael Jordan. Whenever he went to an appointment or his named was called, people were disappointed it wasn't the "Michael Jordan". lol, I also loved the Kobe/Johnson ones. I didn't think tonight could get any better after Kershaw hit 3000. But somehow you made it better. Thank you So-Called.

Random request: the 1987 max headroom incident lol we can't think about the 80s without remembering it's weirdest "broadcast" . They basically used a microwave transmitter and inserted thier own carrier with thier own broadcast
