Whatever happened to Ionic Materials and their awesome technology of fireproof batteries?

I still want to know what happened with this, and what happened with Eesha Khare’s supercapacitor

This looks so fake. Everytime he cuts into the battery, he shorts the battery. This means the light should become darker or go out. At 1:57 you can see that this is not the case.

Spoiler alert, the lights have a separate battery inside the housing and what you're cutting is just tin foil.

I'm mostly excited about the infinite charge cycles this can handle. Battery duration won't go down after many uses.

Why is tesla not working with these yet? They are stuck on 18650s that add over 2000 pounds and catch on fire. Just saying

Watch the whole Nova show on the battery Tech on PBS from the start of the program and understand that the Electrolyte Liquid Solution mixed with Lithium is very Flammable when it gets contact with oxygen or water ! This battery tech has no Electrolyte or water ! All of the plastic is coated with a thin layer of lithium .There appears to be 2 batteries of different sizes one at start that seems larger and another at 1:48 as Mr China whom Screams fake but has no Evidence .Even if there were 2 batteries, they had the same result and did not blow up,burn, smoke or catch on fire and still worked, though at the end the lights did try to go out when it was cut down more than half it's size which is not fully shown on youtube as it was on NOVA on PBS . This is not the whole Video and some is clipped out ! It seems another guy and company making similar batteries based on same tech which is NOT FAKE https://youtu.be/_dJ2AX43OVo Also people might want to understand that when Lithium is given more air when cutting into that battery that it actually creates more energy for a short time because Lithium heats up when given oxygen.

YouTube Comment below:
It would be nice if this type of Technology could be adapted to Power Wheelchairs. The battery is Safe, Lightweight & better for the Environment. All someone would have to do is use this same Technology to put a good handful of these together to create a Battery Pack. The battery pack could be designed around the Wheelchair/Mobility Device to maximize Efficiency, Range, Safety this will give more ability for #PWD People With Disabilities. If this technology is paired with very powerful Motors that use 10 times Less Power than conventional technology used today in 2018 this would provide more Access & Opportunities for PWD to get around & if a person needs help to Transport their Mobility Aid it won't be as Heavy for others to lift. All someone would have to do is take this Cool Technology & find a way to put all of the battery poere to run ALL Features & the Power Wheelchair with this Technology in a 3X3X3 Inch Cube. This would use LESS SPACE & if 1 Cube could take a power chair Farther than 2 big HEAVY Gel-Sell Batteries would & was 99.9% Cheaper in cost you could Imagine what your abilities & Range would be. If the technology was designed the Right way a person could have Endless Range & Opportunities if they could fill the Same Space in their current power chair / scooter with a lighter, safer, smaller, more affordable & longer lasting technology? Instead of getting 10-15 Miles for a 10 hour charge every night using 2 Gel-Sell Batteries if 1 3X3X3 Cube weighing less than a single pound could take 4 hours to charge & could carry that Same power chair 3-5 times Farther before needing a full 4 hour charge, could you Imagine having 6-12 of these batteries in a power chair & the Range that you could have? This is the way we MUST & NEED to be going. Wheelchairs could be designed with this new technology so you could have a main battery pack that is connected to the main drive wheels & on the Seat area you would have a secondary smaller battery pack that works hand & hand with each other. This would mean you could once a week or twice a month you could give the main batteries a very slow & Deep Cycle Trickle Charge. Where a regular Trickle Charge would be 4 hours a day to travel 45 to 50 Miles you could be giving the main bigger battery pack a Longer & much Deeper Trickle Charge for 10 to 15 hours & still have the ability to use the chair. The chair could be designed so the 4 Caster wheels, Frame, Seat etc could lift up off of the main Drive Wheels & the chair still can be used for a shorter distance while the bigger battery packs are charging making mobility more Accessible for the user of the power chair. This would provide more Independence for PWD #Persons #With #Disabilities. Lets make #Accessibility a (#RIGHT) Not a (Privilege)!
