The ASMR of the heist | Chris & Jack

Chris and Jack | May 7, 2026

A high-stakes heist isn’t exactly the place to be indulging in relaxing tapping, crinkling, and whispering triggers for those ASMR tingles. But sometimes the satisfying sounds show up when you least expect them to. It’s the quietest crime, the most relaxing robbery… hush money if you will. It’s Ocean’s 11, HEAT, and The Thomas Crown Affair cast with ASMRtists. Maybe the real treasure was the sounds we found along the way.

We’re Chris W. Smith and Jack De Sena (aka Chris & Jack). We’ve been friends for years and love making high-quality, high-concept sketch comedy. Chris is an occasional Blue Man in Blue Man Group. As a voice actor, Jack played Sokka in Avatar the Last Airbender and Callum in the Dragon Prince. In 2016 we united to create this channel, confusingly titled “Chris & Jack”, which has served as a shared platform to write, produce, direct, edit, and star in our own stuff. We’re releasing comedic sketches of all shapes and sizes. Sci-Fi, Heists, animation, movie tropes, absurdist bits, and plenty of fun new experiments. But above all else, friendship.

A huge thank you to all our Patrons, including our “Producer Tier” friends:

Yeah I don't have an ASM reaction. There is no sound that will do that for me and I just find most ASMR videos to be incredibly gross. Like the wet mouth sounds just bug me.

I never got i to asmr. But i really really enjoy deep guttural sounds. Like big kaiju monsters growling or a plane flying by. Honestly that might be how i got into slam metal. They always have extreme guttural growls

This video really shows how frustrating it is to explain to people that ASMR is NOT an "adult" thing. They all just see the clickbait thumbnails from trash ASMRtists and form their opinions about it from those, without even bothering to look at or try any of the NON-trash ASMRtist's stuff.

I wonder how it really works, cause in the part with random noises I get the goosebumps, but it's not pleasant. However whispering gives me a pleasant feeling, which is hard to describe. However I absolutely hate, when someone whispering on video is speaking directly to me.

Hear me out, what about a sketch where its a parody on action movies, a professional hitman gets a knock on the door and turns out its his former boss, he asks to come in and he sits down, the hitman asks "why do i get the feeling this isn't just a friendly chat" and turns out thats exactly what it is

Unironically I've definitely heard lots of sounds like that alarm one in more techy or scifi roleplay audios. Never really saw it as being a thing but I guess it could lmao.

I like how you tow the line by balancing mocking the aggressive evangelism of ASMR people with the actual exploration of varying ASMR stuff. I'm certain you have a full spectrum of ASMR opinions in your fan base. Some real truths in this sketch, and there's fun in every angle. I'm not at all into ASMR (haven't found my trigger yet?), thanks for not putting in Chris slurping on a big crab claw or something 🤮
