To be fair, the "war fleet" that Pepsi traded for had been thoroughly stripped of anything valuable by starving Soviet citizens well before the transaction was made, whether Pepsi knew that or not. What they got was a bunch of rusting hulks, more of a liability than an asset.

Like most companies it's the shareholders that they have to keep happy. The problem with coke vs pepsi is their top 10 shareholders are the same as your banks top ten shareholders. Particularly Blackrock and Vanguard.

as a Filipino-American and a fallout fan I was completely unaware that the sunset sarsaparilla star incident is both based on a real thing and occurred in the Philippines

Pepsi is more sweet and coke is more bitter.
They just taste different. I used to prefer pepsi and switched to coke as as I got more older and bitter. I used to hate coke when I was younger.

This sounds weirdly familiar? Where have I heard this story before?
Hmm, maybe it was just my world of pure imagination…

Pepsi the drink that keeps on giving? Hilarious! I think this is the 3rd or 4th Pepsi story I've read. Nazi Pepsi, dead mouse Pepsi, Pepsi Russian Navy, 349 Pepsi, and another one I've forgotten. Pepsi only seem to employ your actual university, Bollocks gobshites!

I wonder what would have happened if the Filipino court ruled Pepsi was liable to pay for every 349 bottle cap. They probably would have pulled out of the country to avoid paying.

It's actually funny how Pepsi is still getting bad PR from this decades later.
But I'm still a Pepsi drinker. š

Ironically, 32 years later, Pepsi is now being used in fast food restaurants across the south of the Philippines.

even the 500 is generous to make up for a mistake.
