I remember he was on Aqua Teen Hunger Force and you could tell he absolutely curated and oversaw the way they drew and animated him…muscular and somehow tall rather than the roly-poly pizza joint employee looking guy he's become

Such a jerk not to tell the crowd more bands are about to play. I know sometimes you have to play after headliners . It’s not great half the time also. So he could of said something.
I remember my band was supposed to play after Sick Of It All once . Was a small club and we got lucky . As one band wore outfits and couldn’t be on in time . I was standing there and said we will play now. So we did and was so happy . As the place was packed full . Then After Sick of It All most left and didn’t see the other band . Sucks to to an opening act sometimes. Take the good take th bad . Just don’t pay to play

Glenn has actually chilled out a bit and doesn't take himself quite as seriously. His appearances on Portlandia and Aqua Teen Hunger Force are a couple examples of that. He would have never joked around like that back in the 90s.

I remember, back in the late 80s at the pizzeria I was working at, a kid who was clearly no older than 15 presenting me with an ID for a pitcher of beer that identified him as 'Glenn Danzig'. He was about the same height.

Anyone can get knocked out from one punch, especially when that punch is coming from a large man who knows how to throw one. I think what happened is Danzig pushed the guy expecting the "fight" to be broken up. That way, he could look tough without having to do anything. It looks like, after the shove, he just stands there waiting.

I saw him in Detroit at harpos in 1992. A similar incident happened as described here. A fan got passed to the stage, started mosh dancing. Glen grabbed him, punched him out. Threw him off stage into the crowd….. the crowd love it.

There is a respected independent rock magazine in Spain, Ruta 66, whose owner and main editor lives in LA, where he gets to interview many rock artists.
After being rejected an interview so many times by Danzig, he decided just to go to his house and try. He rings the bell. The door opens and sees a shotgun on his face and Danzig screaming "who the f**k are you, what are you doing in my house? Get the f**k out of here!".
He ran for his live and never ever wrote about him in his magazine.

I'm not comfortable with the idea Danzig is in his 70s. This seems wrong. Like, he is your childhood friend's jersey older brother who's always in the basement with the weight bench listening to metal. He's got a crappy car, but it's cool because you're 12 and never question why he can't get a girlfriend. Glenn is perpetually 19 in my head.
How is it that my childhood heroes are all old now I'm not.
