I would argue the moose is the worlds scariest predator. They dont actually eat meat but if you are dumb enough to go close to it because they are so majestic they will charge you and slice you to ribbons with their hooves. I would guarentee you that more people get attacked by more moose than sharks. Im canadian but this is not bias. Moose are assholes. They take people hunting them anf building roads that interrupt their migration routes very personally.

Even if one shark did kill the two people it wouldnt be a serial killer. Not just because its a shark but because in order to be a serial killer you have to kill at least 3 people in separate incidents

Fun fact: sharks can be bity with stuff a lot because they simply have no other way to intact with the world. They don’t really have limbs that can interact with things, so they use their mouths to explore things. You’ll see that most shark interactions, between sharks, are filled with these bites that while plenty strong to hurt many things don’t often hurt other sharks.
And most surfer bites are due to the fact that surfers’ shadows underwater often look like seals and sea turtles, two common shark prey. That’s why deaths are actually pretty rare it’s normally just injuries, and the deaths that do happen are more of a result of blood loss and/or drowning (blood loss and traumatic injury often causing the drowning). Because once they realize it’s not what they thought they leave. They’ve actually done tests on sharks response to different kinds of blood and sharks are NOT interested in human blood at all. Swimming while bleeding would actually make you less likely to get attacked by a shark. Because

I have a background in filmmaking and I’m applying for a PhD this fall in ecology/conservation. I would love to make science communication material that doesn’t have a narrative or agenda (other than conservation), but just to share the truth. The sensationalized lies of the sharks is terrible for their conservation efforts. The attack was a genuine mistake.

So what are the sharks is monstro he was famously on air jaws, and he actually became the focus of the show one of the other sharks is the blue, and a couple of the other sharks I can't remember their names right off hand but I do know that they went viral especially in shark enthusiastic communities. And honestly I think you are approaching this from a standpoint of a normal viewer not a shark scientist so to be fair Nat Geo is way way better than shark week. Nat Geo's shark block program is called sharkfest and they actually do a really good job of putting real science forward in the shows while keeping it entertaining

Damn american TV-Shows …. why to they always have to ask the same question every 10 seconds. It was pretty clear in the intro that they try to find out if one shark killed 2 people. Why does it need to be repeated constantly?

i know im late but i work with sharks myself and i can honestly say i've never seen a good shark documentary. the only time i watch them is when im at my grandparent's house so i can tell them all the information before the documentary does and they can tell me how smart i am.

I am terrified of sharks but I have a simple solution, staying out of their house, the ocean. Thats just good manners. My fear doesnt equate kill all sharks for my safety when ecosystems are a thing requiring balance and I can just stay out of the ocean. Tbf, I’m also just terrified of the ocean in general so super easy to give it space, lots of space… I lived three hours from an ocean, still never seen one in real life, thats the kind of space I give oceans. 😅
