Tell my story | Chris & Jack

Chris and Jack | July 24, 2026

Out there on the sci-fi battlefields of The Great Robot War, a fallen warrior needs a friend to carry on his legacy. A final request. But ya know… not everyone’s a natural storyteller. Some people just wind up rambling, or getting confused, or telling a story that goes nowhere. Heroes in movies are lucky to be around good storytellers when it matters most.

This sketch is kinda like this one time where my buddy, (Greg i think it was) asked me for a favor but I was like not necessarily the right person to ask, cause he wanted me to like help him change a tire which i’d be down to help with but my back was pretty sore from, I think I threw it out moving or I played a lot of basketball that weekend, and his car was all the way over by, um, you know the Norm’s diner over by Fairfax or La Cienega or whichever?, so I wasn’t sure if I could help, but I started driving over there anyway, on the 10, but he had called a tow truck already or maybe called it after, and so we waited at the Norm’s. I think it was soccer not basketball.

We’re Chris W. Smith and Jack De Sena (aka Chris & Jack). We’ve been friends for years and love making high-quality, high-concept sketch comedy. Chris is an occasional Blue Man in Blue Man Group. As a voice actor, Jack played Sokka in Avatar the Last Airbender and Callum in the Dragon Prince. In 2016 we united to create this channel, confusingly titled “Chris & Jack”, which has served as a shared platform to write, produce, direct, edit, and star in our own stuff. We’re releasing comedic sketches of all shapes and sizes. Sci-Fi, Heists, animation, movie tropes, absurdist bits, and plenty of fun new experiments. But above all else, friendship.

A huge thank you to all our Patrons, including our “Producer Tier” friends:

What if Slenderman had a phallic-shaped head, and the media only ever reported him being bald, but his true victims know what he really looks like, and that's how they're able to tell who's lying about being a victim or not?

"and it hasn't been a dream any of the time, right?" He really likes the butterfly dream! "There's a version where it starts in the middle and then goes to the beginning" He also really likes the Odyssey! Grainer needn't worry, his friend knew the classics of telling stories all along!

    Fantastic as always!
I have to say, I don't know if I'm the only one who sees the inspiration here, from "tell your boss what happened here" by Moving Mind Studio.
(Pd. I loved the short you made as an alternative ending too. It was hilarious)

The props, set, and costumes here are incredible, not to mention special effects. I'd love to see a full movie from these guys, but I'm afraid I'd die of laughter before I made it halfway through. Still, It'd be worth it XD

Joseph Campbell was wildly sexist, he taught at a women's school and would tell them that women could not be a hero in a story, that they were reserved for a prize or reward

The irony or, maybe urgency, of this entire comment section being 50% bots is not lost on us. Keep fighting the good fight, or not. I mean maybe you paid for them like that one place, you know, over by the bay? Anyway, this video was super good and stuff and things.

Jack remind me never to die around you. You're not allowed to tell my story. Actually . . . I have no story, so its all ok. You're good. You could totally tell my non-story.

I saw this going a different direction — he teaches him all about story telling, he's finally grasping the concept, and then BLAM down in a heap. Just like the third Trolls movie, Trolls Band Together.

Creepiest thing that's happened to me on the road is when I saw that naked guy on the I-95 towards Newington. I was coming back from my granddad's 68th birthday and I was super hungry. I'd expected to be on the road by 9pm but my sister was having trouble getting her wheelchair in her husband's car and I didn't want to just ditch them. Like, things had been a bit funny between me and my family for a while because I sided with my cousin in law when we found out his wife (my cousin) was cheating on him. So I ended up leaving way later than expected. Anyway I pulled into a gas station on the way and grabbed a hot dog from the counter. The guy rang me up and it was like 12 dollars. 12 dollars for a dirty gas station hot dog? Buddy for 12 dollars I better be getting a reach around too. Yeah I bought it but I wasn't happy about it. Rip off jerks think they've got you over a barrel because there's not another gas station for 40 miles.
