Fair review of the first debate, T1J. I would like to watch your review of the second debate as well.

The constantly changing her mind matters because we can't trust that she is going to keep her word. Take her words on banks but then her biggest donators are banks and corporations. No thank you. She doesn't walk the walk.
Also, did you like O'Malley's mention of the gun violence victims in the audience. I was really irritated by it. You can't have phones or notes but you can bring your own emotional aid to gain supporters and place them in the audience. Don't use gun violence victims as a tool to get ahead. It's wrong, shameful, and shouldn't be allowed.

"get rekt, dude!"
I swear this has to be the only time that sentence has been uttered in reference to a political debate.

I will not be voting for Bernie Sanders because I do not like socialism as a form of government. That being said, yes he seems like a human, and a halfway decent one at that.
Trump is a fucking maniac…sure I can see that, haha. I will not be voting for him either, but it sure would be interesting to see. I mean, is his insanity something that will get stuff done, or will he cause the entire country to implode? That would be interesting to find out.

I thought Bernie killed it. The other candidates agreed with his policies the most, and he didn't interrupt people to talk about how much better they are than republicans (looks at Hillary).
Bernie seemed like he was pretty straight up with his answers, and he had the ideas that others couldn't help but agree with. I also didn't think it was a smart move for Hillary to decline to respond, since I saw that as her being unprepared.
Do you think you'll talk about the CNN poll that was posted after the debate, that's been the subject of a lot of controversy recently? (and the association between Hillary and TWC)

What's the right answer to the "Do black lives matter or do all lives matter?" question? Is it not an actual question "answer directly this specific question" type of question, and more of an invitation to talk about his stance of the issue? That's where I'd fuck up, I have a very hard time recognizing that things like that and I wouldn't know what the hell else to say… I'd prefer to be asked that very directly, cause I'm kind of an idiot about the unspoken and non-verbal parts of speech (I am on the autism spectrum, not that someone who's not couldn't also have trouble with that), I'll give direct answers to questions that were only said to make a point… It just doesn't occur to me that it wasn't meant for that. That's why it's hard for me to criticize him too hard about that answer. But I don't know, maybe that should be a required cognitive ability if you're going to being a politician.

I felt bad for Lincoln. He's a nice guy. But to nice. I like Bernie but even I know that run for president you do need a dark side. Bernie has it and how he's using it lets him talk shit without anyone even knowing it. Lincoln Chafee good guy but not a good politician.

I'm Canadian and I watched this debate, I've been following Sanders and Clinton mostly, but I was also pleasantly surprised with O'Malley. Everything you said in this video is SPOT ON, the only thing I can criticize is the R.I.P without the . after the P hahaha drives me crazy!!

To be fair, I thought the question about whether black lives matter or all lives matter was just fucking terrible to begin with. No matter what you say, you're inherently wrong.
If you say that black lives matter, then you're obviously trying to pander (because any sensible person would believe deep down that all lives do matter).
Conversely, if you say that all lives matter, you're not addressing racism (which is the actual intent of the question).
Don't get me wrong; this topic absolutely needed to be addressed in the debate. But the question should've been a lot more straightforward, and a lot less of a rhetoric trap.

I actually enjoyed the debate. I give Cooper a lot of credit for calling out the candidates for not answering questions. I too avoided the republican debates thus far because that might set off my blood pressure.
I plan to continually live-tweet each of the debates, and will probably jump on the republican ones as well. That or zone out during those and keep scripting my next batch of videos.

Tbh Jim probably said that all lives matter out of ignorance of the context. The thing is, all lives DO matter, but the reason why the movement came about as a reaction to #blacklivesmatter is freaking stupid and childish. The point of black lives matter was to promote the problem of racial violence and discrimination in America towards blacks especially by the police, yet to feel the need to throw in saying that all lives matter seems a petty way of picking holes and assuming that by saying black lives matter one is saying that others do not, which is not what is being said at all.
So… I wouldnt read it as "he is taking the side of the reactionaries" as much as that he probably had no idea of the full context and, being in a debate didnt have the time to properly phrase it.
Of course, could be completely wrong, please correct me if he is completely aware of the controversy, or if I otherwise have gotten facts wrong.

Politics is supposed to be boring =_= As European, this is one of the things that blows my mind about Americans.
In politics you have to deal with policies, laws, treaties, negotiations.
If you think climate change is a problem, then you want a candidate who has plans for renewable energies, etc.
If you think racism is still a problem, you need a candidate who is willing to tackling the issue and has some understanding of the issue.
If you think the poor because of low minimum wage are an issue, you want a candidate who will go for a raise in minimum wage.
If you want to get money out of politics, you need a candidate who will support a constitutional amendment, or another plan to tackle that issue.
If you want to see the conflicts in the middle east come to a good conclusion, you need a Commander in Chief who will not make horrible mistakes.
If you want someone to deal with Putin, you need someone who knows foreign issues, foreign policy and has a plan for these things.
ALL of this is fucking boring – but its the only thing that really matters. Does your candidate match with what you politically agree on????
Who gives a shit about the person's looks, their manner of speaking or whatever else…
Are these people trustworthy? Check their voting record, look up your questions online if the media doesnt provide these answers!
Dislike wall street and political ads? Where does your candidate get their money from? Plenty of documentation…
Now, you may say: Oh I do listen to the policy – but no policy gets discussed in this video…… Yeah. Its all 'the candidate came across like so…'
Politics has become a high school popularity contest.

Also, Bernie was the only one to actually say Black Lives Matter to answer the question, and address the issues of institutional racism. He seems the to be the only one who really cares about the issues he talks about. I appreciate that he seems to be genuine in his campaign and how he actually makes an effort to learn and become educated on racial issues. He's met with BLM activists, such as Deray, to create a more effective criminal justice reform plan to help combat institutional racism. He seems to be actually willing to learn and endeavor to do the best he can for the causes he talks about.

Well Martin might have talked about Green tech and global warming the most, but wasn't Bernie the only one saying climate change was the worst national security thread?

Anyone else notice Hilary dogging around voting against gay marriage in the past. She gave reasons for the other things she changed her stance on, but for gay marriage she seems to be hoping that the snow thing (which was awesome) saved her.
