The derogatory terms used about some First Nation People ("black, brown, otherwise") are from the European and Euro-American terminology or curricula. In the past, and today, Native People have various colors. Colorism was introduced and interrupted by assaults and crossing over to the Euro side. Most interrupted bloodlines are the whiter colored, not those black or brown in color. Such language practices are because of a lack of authentic research beyond the white man's technology and classroom settings.

I usually listen to these after they're live. I have learned something of value each time and appreciate those you have on as guests.
I will always refer to those who have lived here as indigenous or native . I understand more now how putting or saying the "A" name in front is an insult.

It's funny how some uneducated settlers think "Indian" is the offensive part in the term; American Indian. Either 'American Indian' or 'Native American', it's the "American" part of these Eurocentric terms that we must suffer. A proper basket term is the people of Turtle Island or Turtle Islander actually, if one wants to get all PC. They want to call us "American… something" because they seek to absorb us into their settler colonial political body, and this form of settler dominance must be resisted at all times.
