A youtuber I follow who has around 1M subscribers just uploaded a video talking about how he almost got hacked by some people posing as a well known podcast, and it turned out a few of his youtuber friends have had the same scam posed to them. One of them fell for it and had to battle to get his channel back. Stay safe out there!

the 'i accidentally reported your account' scam is also a big thing on tumblr. i got a message like that and was lucky enough to keep asking questions until it was clear the whole thing was a scam.

I get these emails all the time, I use a non-YouTube attached email for partnerships and log into that using a virtual desktop running Linux that has no login tokens. It's wild out there!

I always get a ridiculous amount of spam mails, but there was one week where I got like 300+ spam mails in one week or something insane like that. Unforrunately I have to filter my spam box regularly because important emails sometimes get put in there on accident. But it's such a huge task to make a new email and switch every account and whatever over

How about the I'll paint your profile picture for $500, just deposit this mobile check for $2000 scam. Was tried on me, keyword tried because I'm a Millennial who played Runescape starting in my late teen years and learned, the hard way, to always check the second trade screen. In practice in real life, that means to go do research if something sounds, sketchy. Sure enough, that's actually a pretty common scam making the rounds on places like Tiktok and Instagram.

I once got the "I accidentally reported you on steam" scam text and the guy sent me to a supposed steam employee who talked to me on discord and only typed using the monospace style. It was hilarious
