Disney continues its mission to churn out annual live-action remakes of their classic animated films, which we have to assume someone asked for. The latest is Snow White, the remake of the classic 1937 film.

Snow White does raise some questions. Like what’s up with her hair? Why did the Queen even keep her alive? Why are the dwarves magic and why are they so nightmare-enducing?

To answer all these questions and more, step inside Ryan George’s Pitch Meeting for Snow White!

lol the original reason why she was named Snow White was not because of a snow storm, it was because her mother wished for her to have skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood and hair as black as ebony. When she was born with skin as white as snow she was named Snow White. Makes sense for them to retcon the reason considering the original reason was a bit controversial because it involves skin color.

So do you think you’ll ever do a pitch for Snow White and the Huntsman? You know, the one that had Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, and Charlize Theron as the evil queen?

Can I just say: One thing I really appreciate about Ryan is that he NEVER goes for the easy "anti-woke" kinda talking point other film Youtubers sometimes do. It's shockingly hard to find film Youtubers that don't at least pay lip service to that bullshit, so I appreciate Ryan never going for it, while still acknowledging when Movie Bad.

While Perrault wrote the first "Sleeping Beauty," the narrative borrows heavily from Giambattista Basile's Sun, Moon, and Talia (1634). Basile's version is much darker: the King does not marry the sleeping woman but rapes her and leaves; she is woken by her children sucking the poison from her finger, not by time or a kiss.
